V8 powered e30 anyone? The e30 m6x swap guide

For those of you who are crazy and have ever thought that a v8 from a 740, 540, or x5 engine (better known as the m60 or m62) would be right at home in an e30..... Here is a link to how its possible. Its a work in progress but its almost there:

It truly is. Because we made it quieter with the m62 exhaust setup no one sees it coming!

Thats unusual, never had anybody tell us that. Maybe your virus protection is a little too uptight?

(btw the webmaster just got paranoid and ran some scans to see if something ended up on the site! Its clear just so you know!)

now all you guys need to do is try and sneak a couple a couple turbos in there, if you can ever get the tires to hook up.

We have actually been looking into supercharging because there a couple of setups that are tried and true. However suspension is next! Car needs to hook better!

I've been itching to get another 540i because I loved the engine/gearbox so much, and the thought of that in the best BMW chassis must be pretty sweet!

The ls1 is a great engine! We have one in our 280z.

However the m6x does have its apeal. Although it doesnt make as much power as the ls1, complete m60 cars can be picked up for $1500 to $2000. Much less then the ls1 motor + t56 alone!

Add a supercharger setup to the m6x and your a bit above ls1 power for ls1 budget!

Both require alot of work however.

Cant comment on weight between the engines. Not sure. (pretty sure the m6x might be heavier). It is bigger. DOHC vs pushrod setup.

Then there is the loose reason that its a bmw engine..... We hate purists so even we dont like this reason. But its nice to trick people who are not automotive orientated and tell them it came with this engine from the factory. (cops! )

Thank you for the good words. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive. Surprisingly well balanced. And that torque........
