How do you remove the really old 4:3 nav screen head unit?

I have found several posts on how to remove the wide screen head unit but few that covered my 4:3 unit. For the last year my screen comes on rarely. When it does it will typically freeze the go black but not shut off. All the buttons work. Recently I changed my battery so now I can't even set the time..... Last week I pressed the mode button to go to CD and nothing no error just nothing. I found a post where people took out the unit disconnected the ribbons and cleaned them. i want to try this but don't know how to pull the unit. Any one have the old 4:3 unit and can help?
