Active E Post Crash Repairs

I just had the unfortunate experience of having a crash with body damage to my Active E. Thankfully it was low speed and no one was injured in the crash and the Ford Fusion on the other end of the crash only had minimal bumper issues. But my Active E has body panel damage, and the BMW dealer affiliated body shop tells me that repairs which might take 2 weeks on a 1 series BMW might take 2-3 months on the the Active E as parts are very slowly available.

Has this been the experience of any other Active E Drivers?

I have heard it is very difficult to get parts, especially the hood. What you're hearing sounds about the same as what I have heard. You could call BMW NA and see what their customer service has to say?
