And won by a lot. The guy just moseyed on past without any trouble. It wasn't even close. Granted, he had the head start because he had the intent on passing. But I stomped as soon as he shifted out of the lane.

Just once, I wish someone with no insurance or a stolen car would just ram these scumbags off the road when they do that braking sh**.

Did he maintain more speed than you through the booth?

That's sad. Driving an eco-box like that doesn't even give him the sole advantage of better fuel mileage. I always knew those hippies were eco-posers. Cared more about their own image than the planet.

Yep. A 328i AT E93 weighs about 600 lbs more than a 328i MT E90. That's an additional 2.5 lbs/hp (roughly), a difference you can really feel.

HAHA. I know. It's such a prick move, even when I see it happen to someone else, i cringe at how much of a prick the guy is

WTF? I've complained about the 328i's acceleration before, but this is just sad. A 10-year old Hyundai?
I think you have a good excuse to tell the wife "Time to trade in for a 335 or used M3."

We are not discussing whether the 328 is fast or not. The point is that a MT 328 sedan will be significantly faster than an e93 with AT.

Thats how I feel when I see some unlucky man driving a mini van. I swear they are the most dangerous drivers, because they are always in a rage because they are driving a mini van. N4S

Loud is not fast. However, there are suspension mods and brake and wheel/tire upgrades that enable the Prius to beat normally faster cars on the downhill run. Plus, by going downhill, no gas is being consumed....

Yes, but isn't the gravity power boost an option?

It is a no cost option as long as you have hills where you plan on driving the Prius.

I had a college kid tailgating me one time in a Hyundai. We got on an entrance ramp to the expressway and he must have been trying to open my trunk with his bumper... Pissed me off. I took off on the ramp and must have hit 110 when I merged and got into the far left lane. I saw my speed and slowed down. He was still running down the ramp when I looked. He was so determined to pass me he must have been doing 130 to catch me. So I got into the middle lane doing 80 and he flew by me.

I guess he can say he won.

130? Impressive. The speed by itself is not, but that a Hyundai managed it is.

Honestly, if you want to ENORMOUSLY piss off (is that term allowed here?) a tailgater is.....slow down. Go exactly the speed limit.

Of course, that could incite true road rage, but you pick your poison.

As a side option (if you have a passenger): have them use their cell phone to start taking a video of you/the interior....and that car tail-gating you. Make sure the tail-gater sees that you're taking videos.

It's called "slow traffic move right" in California.

Thank you! This is precisely what I meant when I mentioned being in the "wrong gear". Even if it's an AT, sometimes the driver has to tell it where to start from.

I don't know why I can't get past it, but it continually amazes me that people who have no experience with manual transmissions do not understand the fact that the primary thing an automatic transmission does is takes care of the coordination of engaging the clutch. If, with a manual transmission, you can't start from a dead stop in 4th gear without lugging the engine or stalling, why on earth do you think you can do it with an automatic transmission?

I thought the kickdown will automatically drop gears to the lowest possible gear in the automatics.
