Dealer vs DVD NAV update for 2010 650i

I just purchased a pre-owned 650i and I want to update the NAV maps. How do I know if I can just buy the DVDs for about $200 or if I have to have it done by the dealer and pay about $500?

Thanks for the link. Just to be clear, my car only has 1 CD/DVD slot. I do not have the additional dedicated slot for the NAV system. I've been told that it is impossible to do a DVD upgrade without the dedicated slot.

How do I contact Sergej (who I think is SIERAS5) to get a FSC code? I don't see an email address anywhere and his account won't take private messages. I have downloaded the disc from the torrent. I just need the code to update the nav in my 2010 650i.
