Legally
Is the (2009 m5) SMG transmission including the clutch classified (by BMW) as a manual or automatic transmission......after market warranty is giveing me the bizz......HELP!!!!!!!

It's a manual transmission, only difference is the pump is controlled by a computer rather than your foot.

If you are asking if the clutch is covered by the BMW maintenance package, it is not. The 6-speed's clutch is.
