I always love reading this type of thing right after I buy a brand new car.... I will say this though. I don't like the digital instrument readout. Something about the analog dials I just really like.

Pretty subtle changes, I guess comparable to the changes made from the 745 to the 750 E65. The only things that interest me are the horsepower boost and the LED lights. I think I prefer my current bumper to the new one. Is the grill more rounded? It looks different and I can't quite place what the change is. Mine seems to have more of a snaut look.

I like all of the updates, except for 2 things. I think indicator lights in the mirrors is silly, and the serve better function on the fenders. Despise start-stop at traffic lights. I really hope that can be defaulted to "off". I love the auto-park feature and hope the stupid start-stop feature doesn't mean we lose that.
That being said, the only new feature I am crazy jealous of is the Bang & Olufsen stereo system!!

I love all the improvements they made on it, except for the auto start-stop.

The only thing I don't really like is the second chrome strip in the rear lower bumper, a little over done.

How many of the major components can possibly be upgraded from a 2012? I think BMW dealer could do the LED lights, side view mirrors with turn signal, and rear lights. I would also love to upgrade the iDrive but doubt possible.
Any input greatly welcomed.

Upgraded iDrive would be awesome, however unlikely!

With what a dealer would charge you might be better off waiting a year for the after market products.

If you follow a typical facelift head lights and tail lights can start upwards of 5k and dealers don't like to do it. After market eventually drifts down to 2k all said and done. That's a year from now though. Idrive may eventually be upgradable for a big cost (assuming it is all software)

I hope they add some better wheel selections for the 2013. I didn't like any of the choices when I ordered my 750Li.

Could care less if they installed hubcaps!

No factory wheel on ANY car would keep me from going aftermarket. There are simply far too many better options than stock.

Although they pay a lot more. All I wanted was an M steering wheel and thought it was not possible but went to German build site and it was available. I even asked prior to build if I could get the wheel and was denied

Bummer

Why not just order the wheel as a spare part and swap it out? In my mind, to keep pricing competitive, and to allow easing ordering for stock given the long delivery times to USA, BMW NA nixed the ability to offer high customzation. Under Ian Robterson, I think BMW NA wanted to head more to a customized approach - but I think that's changed with the new CEO.

What we might see is customization via software. So things that are software driven (like the dash, infotainment), may allow more customization going forward, since the underlying parts are common. Just think about the instrument cluster - with the new 7, they can likely just use 1 cluster worldwide, with different software versions.

Don't like the floating rear screens at all.

I am a BIG fan of the other changes, including the new cluster, new sound system, updated iDrive, added iDrive control to the rear, etc.

Anxious to see photos of the M sport...

It'd be great if they release a M7, but that photo is not a M7. It's only a M Sport package on a standard 7.

Yeah, same black exterior... but switching to Oyster/Black on the inside with Piano. Adding the M Sport package with 20" wheels and deleting the Night Vision. It's a 2012 and we pick it up at the Welt on Tuesday.

Are you doing ED? If not your timing with probably be perfect for the 2013s.
