I think the interior changes are exceptional. The iDrive interface/transitions look dramatically more elegant.
Agree completely. Most of the exterior changes are done just for the sake of it. The front apron changes for example. To me the pre-facelift looks nicer, cleaner.

Weird that they mention a few things that exist already. Like all the Internet toys, active cruise control. Didn't notice the "slim front seats", look exactly the same to me?

The only real cool thing is the headlights of course, and the graphics goodies in the instrument cluster. Love the changing themes.

You pick-up on Tuesday? I am surprised you're not waiting for the 2013, with what appear to be some nice changes. We missed each other by about two weeks last time.

I'm with you on the wheels, for sure. I am tentatively planning a ED, but only if I get all the upgrades to the car that I've been seeing. And I will probably do th M package. I think the car is finally going to be what it should be this time around. I was considering the GC but I have seen some reviews about the back seat being an after thought thereby pushing me away. At 6'3'' I can't have the driver's seat against the passenger seat--may as well just get the two door.

I love black, but everyone I know in Texas that has had a black car swears they'll never get another so I just sort of take their cue. I am going to go back to silver I think, with a black interior (but I may change my mind on the interior). I am really hoping they provide for some new wheels this go around. Also, I have the monitors in the headrests for the kids, and they rarely use them so I may skip those. Besides, the new ones look like they are glued on there, and will be the victim of bumping and getting crap caught on them.

Also, I may not even do the Li, instead going for the B&O stereo. I really enjoy my music. Few people do I ferry in the back of my car, but I would still like some room for passengers. So I'll explore this again.

I really wish they'd do a pass through rear seat area like the do on the 5 and now the 6 series. I could use that space from time to time.

I would appreciate some pictures from you again. You did a good job last time.

Bro there's a huge downside to that - we pay a lot more for these cars. A car that costs around 50k USD for you, costs around the same for us in Euro, so it's like 64k USD converted.

I know dark colors absorb heat, while light colors reflect heat, but is it truth or myth that paint color makes that much of a difference? We're not talking cotton, but metal, which probably heats quickly and retains same no matter color. We used to have a Black Suburban and a Silver Denali and I never noticed difference between the two, but that's in New York...

I have the pass through as standard in my 2012 750iAH (pics attached). Also for the 2013, someone posted that the wizz bang updated dash won't be available until next year. One thing to consider or verify if you are considering the 2013.

Yes, I have that pass through as well. I would prefer the fold down seats like the 5 has. The 5x9 hole is only good for broomsticks and skis.

I have read to the contrary on the dash update, however I will wait to hear from the dealers and the BMW website before I do anything. I can easily wait, and will for the updates.

Are the adjustable seats worth it? I did not get them as only the kids sit back there these days.

Likewise. My youngest is still in the booster. And the 7 year old has never said I wish this seat could recline, slide forward and tilt. So I passed. He does like to adjust the rear climate control (to the coldest setting), and they both like to operate their rear shades. I also didn't get the rear entertainment pack. I have a rocket fish iPad mount that I can use ($10 on sale from BestBuy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketfi...&skuId=2861176) that works really well in my wife's Mazda, but I personally don't like them looking at the LCD too much, though I'm sure they would do so constantly without complaint. There's a whole world outside those windows, which is how I was raised. Now if it could access bimmerfest...

I totally agree.

Also, thanks for the link on the Ipad mount, I'll be getting those for sure. I may not even do the Li. I used to lay on the rear dash and take a nap when I was little.

I forgot to add, my kids "love" the rear shades and use them all the time. I had the windows tinted dark in the back, but when they want to sleep, they shut the shades and it's so nice back there they just snooze off.

What exactly are you referring to here? Something on the dash itself, or the new iDrive interface?

Yeah, I wanted the car here at about the same time I give back my current one... which means a mid-June drop off.

I also dislike the new "floating" look, but if you really do get an iDrive controller in the back that would be great in addition to the remote. I'm not certain thats the case since I saw an AutoSpies video with the monitors but no iDrive controller...

I would like to see a wider rear wheel fender. Many go with the 275+ rear tire and I think it the rear fender wells would flair out a bit, it would be a nice look.

Also, a fold down rear seat would be great. I am a Realtor and I cannot fit my yard signs in the back of my car.

The instrument cluster to be precise. Look at post #25 on this thread.

Hayden,

Vienna is on my hitlist too.

SInce I bought, I can order the next one whenever, but the next will be leased. It still requires some fancy manuevering; trading and holding the credit until the car is built etc then consumating the transaction. I can rent a car for a month or two if necessary. They are surprisingly cheap if you negotiate with them for a full month.

I've read that post, and even seen information to the contrary. Then I thought about it and realized it would make little sense for them to make the upgrades and hold back the display on the US model. I just can't imagine them doing that as it's a big part of the facelift. We will know within the next couple of weeks I'm sure. My money is on the whole enchilada being on the US model, and if it's not, then I'll wait or consider other options. Think about it...

I have never seen BMW make a model announcement and then not have all the features available in the US without specifically stating that at the time of any release of information. I too agree that we will see the whole set of changes we see here. I would be amazed if that is not the case but I assume there is always a first time.

Years ago I had the Lincoln LS when it first came out. The seats folded down in the back and I loved if for carrying Realtor signs. From there I went to the Lexus 460 and couldn’t fit signs in the trunk. Kinda sucked needing an extra vehicle just to carry signs in. My 760Li is the same way, just about 6-8” short on trunk room. I can live with it, otherwise I would have went with a 5, as those seats fold down.

A successful realtor who uses his 7er as his daily driver to take care of business, should have man-servant who drives behind him in a large truck and carries his realtor signs for him

But then again, what do I know about realtor signs ; )

I hear ya. I'm not "knocking" the notion. But it is NOT a "deal breaker" for me as I don't expect it. If I had to take a educated guess, I bet the reason S Class, 7 Series, A8 don't have pass through is for better interior sound dampening ability.

Also, it has the new "Professional Rear Seat Entertainment" screens, which should come with a rear iDrive knob, but there's no rear iDrive knob to be seen...?

Such that the order/pricing guide is wrong w/r/t the rear window sunshades, as the option code description appears constant across model lines, no matter different running gear, I suspect the "Rear-seat entertainment Professional with iDrive control" description is also incorrect for US and we will not see rear iDrive control, like that of the 2009-2012 models. Unfortunately, BMW of North America is very conservative w/r/t in-car entertainment…. :|
