Painting little stuff...

So I talked to the body shop about painting a few pieces on the car.

Rear Spoiler
Front Washer Jets
Door Handles and Surrounds
Liscense Plate Frame and handle
Roof trim rails.

Thats about it for the painting. Quote was $342 dollars. The shop owner did the door handles on his truck, or one of his employees. It looked very good. And then he showed me another truck of the same body style that was black plastic. He had to sand it and prep it. Looks like he does very good work. Has done work on my cousins CLK55 and on another friends 360. Comes highly recommended.

Is there anything else I should get painted while I am there? Get it all out in one go?

Z3 gills? Even if you never install them, you might as well paint them with the batch. They don't cost much from BMW new.

Don't let them bake any of the plastic stuff. The roof strips are metal. You have to remove the rubber strips from them to do it right. If they ruin them you have to buy new strips to get the rubber strips. There is also foam under the strip doors that you should remove. My guy also removed the strip doors. They have to keep track on how they were assembled because each side is different (180 out).

Sweet - a paint shop test dummy!
Where are you taking this work? I want to do a few things from that list before HC as well.

If you're willing to do the prep, stoneguards. I had mine done almost 2 years ago when I had my rear bumper cover and fender repainted. I just used magnetic sign material, and cut 8 of them from a sheet. Peeled the vinyl, removed the adhesive (mineral spirits), wetsanded. They turned out well, and I put Xpel on them when I was done.
