Anyone Else on Grand Mercury?

Am I the only 'fester left on Grand Mercury now that HWF and chelles got off in NY?

The ship was making good time to Brunswick and could have arrived Sat but then dropped off the tracking system at marinetraffic.
It's still not showing up even though the itinerary has been updated to show 6/10 arrival and 6/11 departure.
Oh well, guess I'll have to hope things clear up today and I get updates from WW that my car has been unloaded.

Woo Hoo! Car is off the boat.
Now waiting for customs release.

Good luck. Mine got through customs in under 2 days. I think, now, it's held up in VPC, since I had some deep scratches on the rear bumper. I suppose the worst case scenario, from an elapsed time point-of-view, would be the necessity to replace the bumper. I wonder if they would get it from a local BMW parts warehouse, or would they have to get it from Germany.

Thanks, same to you. Hopefully the bumper cold be sourced locally but they would still have to paint it.
Luckily mine came through ED spotless so I am hoping for a quick turnaround.

It's getting interesting. In tracking my car in the BMWUSA.com website, it now shows Status 4, Finishing Touches. I assume that means the VPC.

Good to know. I am off the boat but not through customs. Hoped that would happen today but no luck. Fingers crossed for Wednesday.

I have mixed feelings. The longer it takes in VPC, the more likely it is that they will actually repair my rear bumper. OTOH, I want my car now.

What a bummer! I just heard from my CA that my car will not arrive at the dealership until June 24. That figures out to about 13 days at the VPC. At least I can feel pretty confident that it will look perfect when I get it.

I ordered mine from pentagoncarsales in Ramstein GE on 4/4/12. It was built on 9 may 12. it was loaded on the Grand Mercury on 23 may, and after going through the port in NJ and customs, i was told to pick it up at the dealer in Md on 14 june. 9+ weeks from when i put down the deposit. it was scheduled to arrive the first week in july so it beat that estimate.

i saved about $4k off the base price by going through the military sales progran (i am DOD civilian and travel often on tdy in GE) but they don't offer a european delivery program (like thru US dealers) unless you have an EU driver's license. A US driver's license will not get you plates in the EU like in the old days when they offered oval tourist plates.

this is my first BMW after 3 decades of Damlier Benz. i wanted a 3 series diesel, but that was not in the cards for now.

WW site took until Friday to show customs clearance but the folks on the phone line told me it cleared customs Tuesday. After VPC, I have to wait for trucking co. to notify the PC of the truck schedule and the PC to send available pickup dates via my CA. Disappointed not to hear before the weekend to make plans but hoping to hear something Monday.

i know your frustration, but hang on as it will be any day now. you should see the car in a few days.
i got alpine white and venetian beige. the moonroof and park assist with camera.

I heard from my CA that my car is in the dealership, and I made arrangements to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. I'll post some photos over the next several days. The reason it took so long after clearing customs (on June 9) is that VPC had to repair some deep scratches in the rear bumper. My CA said it looks perfect, which is what I would expect. I'll feel better after I see it tomorrow.

I called Monday and they said my car was finished at VPC Friday afternoon. But, I still haven't heard anything. I finally bothered by CA (Greg Poland) and he said we should hear something in the next 48 hrs (hoping for 24).

I know it will still be a while for the actual PC date but it would help just knowing the date and being able to make the travel plans.

I finally picked up my car from the local dealer this afternoon, and I couldn't be happier. As you know, it took forever for the car to get out of the VPC, but they did a great job; the rear bumper and front rim are perfect, and the car is spotless. I have no idea whether they repaired or replaced the items. Interestingly, the Austrian and Swiss vignettes were gone from the windshield; the display units were still in kilometers; and the zoll plates were in the trunk. The dealer gave me a full tank, which is more than I received five years ago.
