E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

convertible adjustment
My 91 325i leaks a little up front. Is there any kind of adjustment to the manual locks?

look at the roof lip seal sometimes the lip shifts and ends up leaving a small air gap and wter just seems to locate the gap instantly or replace the small plates on the manual locks and it will be a tight fitting roof again as i had to replace my rag top

convertible leak
Check the pin on the top bow that inserts into the receptacle on the windshield header. There is a hard plastic part that fits over a stainless post which is the pin. When the top shrinks a bit from old age, the plastic pin can break off when closing and latching the top. That allows more slop in the fitment of the latched top, and you can get a leak. The little plastic parts cost about 15 bucks each, but if you're on friendly terms with your dealer, he may give you a break. The plastic press fits over the stainless pin. Don't break the plastic putting it on, or your friendly dealer may not be so friendly the second time. Pressing down firmly on the top with an elbow before latching can help to force the pin into the receptacle before forcing the latch closed can help stop breaking the plastic. If all that doesn't help, maybe a new front weather seal will rectify the situation, but little plastic parts are cheaper-if they are broken.
