Unusual Coolant Consumption

Here I was beginning to think I was problem free for a while Anyways, I've noticed a large amount of coolant just disappearing after about a week and a half. I fill her up to the fill marks, and about a week later, I have to fill her up again. Where should I start looking? I don't visually see any leaks anywhere, and the oil isn't cloudy or anything.

If your sure its not leaking (could be leaking when running only), and its not in the oil, its going out the tail pipe...you have a blown head gasket, or worse, cracked block.

Cracked head: good possibility. Cracked block: extremely unlikely. The head is aluminum and can be prone to cracking if overheated. LOTS of them have cracked. The block is cast iron. I've never seen a cracked M20 block. Not saying they can't, but it's pretty rare if it is.

Pressure check the cooling system see if you are losing pressure. You can pull the spark plugs and do a cylinder leak down check and see if you are losing pressure. Look for pressure build up in the cooling system. You can even check for gases in the cooling system. The easiest thing to do is look to see if bubbles are coming out of the cooling system and not stopping and then pull your spark plugs to see if they look like they have been burning coolant.

i had a leak from the throttle body that sounds exactly the same. one of the coolant lines had a small leak and since i drove alot of highways, never noticed a smell or drops. best bet would be get the engine up to temp and with it running look in the tight areas for leaks, throttle body, heater core, all the hoses.
