Another "where's my car?" post drop-off thread...

I still haven't been able to locate my car after dropping it off in Nice on May 18th. Is >2 weeks normal before it shows up in the WW tracking site? My CA says he normally doesn't hear about whether it is shipped until 3-4 weeks after drop off.

That does seem like along time. I dropped mine in Munich and it showed up in a few days.

Next ED will definitely include dropping off the car in Munich. An additional 2-3 weeks waiting for redelivery is definitely not worth it.

I don't think that's too long. I dropped off in Munich on 4/23 and it didn't show up until about 5/4 or so in WW system. As I understand it, it won't show up in their system until it's actually in their possession.

FYI - dropped off in Munich 4/23, arrived in brunswick GA 5/24. Cleared customs AND VDC on 5/28 and my PC redelivery is setup for 6/13 (next wed). All in, it's was 7.5 weeks from drop-off to PC redelivery - which is pretty good! My CA said the average during the summer months for that is 10 weeks.

Hope you hear something soon.

I had considered dropping in Nice but decided the re-delivery time could be significantly longer so went with Munich.
For reference, I dropped off on 5/15 and it left Bremerhaven on 5/23, arriving Brunswick on 6/11. I am surprised yours is not even in the system yet.

pcbrew, I wish I did the same thing! Lucky for you it showed up so quick. It's certainly worth dropping off in Munich if you can make it work with your ED itinerary.

It took my car 4 weeks to go from Munich to Bremerhaven and another 5 weeks to PCD delivery.

That is probably a good idea. I dropped off in Munich and my car was at the port two days later and in the WW system. It took 6 weeks and 6 days from drop off to my redelivery at the Performance Center, which is next week.

gator15: What was your timeline like after arrival in Brunswick?
- How long to clear customs and VPC?
- When was is scheduled for transport and when did you hear possible PC dates?
- Did you take first available or even have many options?

Mine will be unloaded exactly 4 weeks after dropoff and I am hoping for PC date within similar time period (no later than 6/29). However, not sure how the July 4th holiday week will impact that.

Drop off in Munich: 4/26
Departed Bremerhaven: 5/2
Arrived Brunswick: 5/22
Cleared Customs: 5/24
Cleared VDC/PCD scheduled: 5/25

I took the first available date, which will be next week.

Thanks. Based on that, I should have a date by the end of next week but PC before end of June may not be possible.

Looks like the PC is only closed on the 4th and they have the same schools scheduled next week as the week of the 4th, so I will keep my fingers crossed for the holiday week.

Good luck. I am sure that if everything goes as scheduled, you will have it by that first week of July. I thought I would be picking up mine the last week of June, so it has been a pleasant surprise that the process has moved faster than I thought it would. It seems like customs are clearing most cars in Brunswick pretty quickly, so that it a good sign for you.

Can anyone tell me where the "Cleared Customs" and "Cleared VDC..." statuses are showing up. The last I'm seeing is when it left the ship on 5/24. Are these later status also on the W&W tracking site? My CA says he doesn't have access to any information from the time it left the ship until it is scheduled for delivery.

The WW website will show when the car has cleared customs. If it shows that the car was discharged, but includes no other status updates, then it is probably still in customs. There really is no easy way to check about the status at VDC, but I assumed that since the Performance Center scheduled me for delivery on 5/25, that my car cleared the VDC either that day or the day prior. Here are my status updates from the WW website:

LINER RELEASE BRUNSWICK, GA 24-05-2012 12:19:23
DELIVERED FROM BRUNSWICK, GA 24-05-2012 12:02:48 1
CUSTOMS RELEASE WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ 24-05-2012 00:00:00
DISCHARGED BRUNSWICK, GA 22-05-2012 14:03:07 1
LOADED ON VESSEL BREMERHAVEN 02-05-2012 19:11:02 1
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL BREMERHAVEN 28-04-2012 10:50:29 1

Thanks!!! This is still all a mystery to me. My car, as I think I posted on another thread, went right from "Discharged" to "Delivered From" with no line for "Customs Release". The last line I have is "Delivered From and that was on 5/24.

That is strange. Have you tried calling the ED Department? Maybe they will be able to provide you with more information. At the very least, they should be able to tell you if your car has made it to the VDC yet.

I can't actually find a specific phone number other than the 800 number that just says "in transit", as it has since the day I dropped off the car in AMS.

ADDING: just found the number, which is actually answered by a human being 800-932-0831. A very nice person is needing to query New Jersey for an update, and she promised to email me tomorrow. I fear that I'm one of the "stuck in customs" chosen few. Stay tuned.

That number came through. The car was pulled out by customs for "additional inspection" which the person claimed only involves opening the doors and trunk, and not pulling anything out. They expect it to be at the VPC within the next 24 hours.

I dropped mine off in Munich on 26 May and as of today, 10 June, it is still not in the WW system. Anyone else see that much wait time on a Munich drop-off? Today is 15 days since dropoff (granted it was dropped off on a weekend and it is now a sunday) The waiting is already intolerable and I'm worried this means it hasn't even gotten on a ship yet, I assume... Thoughts?

Unfortunately your assumption is correct Your car will show up on their system as soon as they take possession of your car. It could be that you JUST missed the truck that came on the day before (Friday). Russ650 had a similar experience where his car didn't get picked up for 2 weeks or so.

Peter, look at my post above...drop off in Munich 29 May, and I'm still not on a ship. I presume you will be on the same ship as me, which is the Integrity. It departs on 15 June, arrives in Jersey 1 July. May want to send an email to with your name, drop off date and time and they can tell you the specifics of your ship. Which car did you pick up?
