Blower suddenly stopped

So , I decided to roll up the windows and turn on the AC today only to find no blower. (99 M3,climate control). All the lights light, no flickering, just no blower on any setting. It worked fine yesterday-no symptomatic behaviors.

I've done the search and read the threads. Evidence gathered so far would seem to indicate the FSU.

Since the threads are somewhat dated, anything new? Anyone have a test proceedure that they have faith in?

You are right, FSU. anything else other than that or fuse would be worse. FSU takes 10-15 minutes to fix.

If you are lucky enough for this to be the FSU good deal. I suspect that your blower is shot. And for the record most blowers when they die don't blow any fuses. Also just because the blower will run when you jumper it cold doesn't mean squat. The bearings which are greaseless and the brushes which are most likely toast don't allow you to rebuild these but replace it.

Also one little known fact the wiring harness to the FSU has been known to make poor contact. I would strongly suggest before replacing the FSU to get some dielectric grease and put that between the connector and the FSU. Then turn the blower on high and wiggle the connector when attached again. If you find it runs then you saved buying a new FSU or blower. It is worth a shot...
