Phone Sync to BMW

I have a Samsung phone that successfully syncs to the iDrive. I can see all contacts and messages. The problem i have, is that when a new message or email arrives it does not show up on the car's iDrive. If i need it to show up i must disable Bluetooth and re-enable it.

Has any one encountered this problem and know a fix?

Thanks,
A

You may have to check box the Office function. Are you plugging your phone in to the USB any time in between your new emails/messages? I know that with Bluetooth audio, if you plug the phone in with USB, then unplug it, you have to go back into idrive settings and check box BT Audio again.

Also, the phone may not be fully compatible with BMW Office. This may just be a glitchy result of that. I though only certain Blackberrys are fully compatible with BMW Office. I may be wrong... I hate my iPhone for not being able to use BMW Office.

i think this link can help determine whether your phone is fully compatible to all the features. http://www.bmwusa.com/bluetooth

I have a blackberry. telephone, phone book and audio playback functions work, but not office function (emails and texts). I have an 8330 (i think) and the most compatible one is 9650

That is a good link. I use a BB 9100 and it shows e-mail just fine. The message screen updates as new messages come in.

Interesting that none of the AT&T phones I dug through will do calander or tasks (not even the iPhones). I wonder if there are any phones that work with those apps.

FWIW

my blackberry doesn't work with the office function in the car, the SA told me it was because I had an older BB OS (though strangely I can't seem to upgrade)
