plasti dip car covering?

I found this while looking at vinyl car wraps, I really wanna try this. Has anyone heard or seen any this product? Beside the stuff you dip your pliers into. There is a couple videos on their site. http://www.dipyourcar.com/shop/page/3?shop_param=

It only works on smaller parts... car will not look right if you rattle can it in plastic dip. If you want they sell special plastic dip which is mixed properly for the gun but then you can just paint it why bother with it.

You going to have to sand your body for it to stick properly... and if it's hot enough it will get soft on horizontal areas.

It will last about a year or longer if you keep your car under cover. I think I may try it on my hood. It peels off pretty easily too if you do enough coats. I was looking into vinyl but I don't have the time or the patience for it. Vinyl lasts longer but there's a chance it could damage your paint.

Im not real sold on anything sprayed out of a wagner paint sprayer. I could see it would hide older faded paint for awile, I would considider it if i know my paints going to get trashed on gravel roads . Why not just repaint for the long run.My cats would love climbing on it though.

I don't have the cash for body work and a respray. It's not gonna last forever and it's not paint so what does it matter what kind of sprayer? It's actually designed special for this product. I think it's cool that you change the color of your car without all the work. Watch some more of the videos. There are some customer videos that show the finished product. I've made up my mind on it I'm gonna try it and post the results

Great man. Have fun and be sure to post the results. I am very interested to see how long it lasts and how durable it is. My biggest curiosity is how one would care for it and how it holds up to washing.

Edit

Although a black and white photo, you can see from my sig pic that you can get the same result from paint and it will stand up to weather and washing for years :o))

Out of all the opinions yours means the most, I've seen your write up on jalopnic.com and your thread on r3vlimited.com. You took your whole freakin' car apart and did all the body work in a tiny apartment. Your car is my insipration for this actually.
I know I need body work but really my body and paint is overall pretty nice. There are a few small dents on the door. No rust what so ever though. I just really wanna try something new. I know I may be skipping steps but I want to see what it's like if you don't do all the steps.

The large car kit comes with 3 gallons so there will be enough for touch ups as I'm not doing my wheels
It's gonna be a few weeks before I can save up some money, I just got hit w/ a $200 towing bill for parking on private parking. They're cracking down on the illegal parking b/c we're having a festival downtown and was parked there for just 20-30min,saw the sign but I figured I could make it back before it would be towed. ARRRGGGG!

Thanks and best of luck, I would try doing the hood first and seeing how weather/conditions effect it first before committing to the full re-spray.
