Nice Road Trip in my Shark Today

My local chapter of BMWCCA had a get together this morning at a BMW repair shop in Bainbridge, PA so this morning at 7 am after filling the tank with premium fuel, I headed up I81 from Hagerstown, MD. I set my cruise at 67 mph and drove without stopping or slowing down all the way to Harrisburg, PA where I took a back road through Middletown (home of Three Mile Island) to Bainbridge, a quaint little town along the Susquehanna River. Trip home was similar except all the windows were down and the sunroof was open as it had warmed up into the high 80's. I filled up at the same station upon arriving back in Hagerstown and calculated my mileage. I averaged 22.5 mpg. Not bad for a 24 year old car. The more I drive this car, the better I like it.

My AC did not appear to be ice cold over the weekend so I took it to a local shop today and had them add the can of R-12 that I bought off Ebay. Wow, it is ice cold now. I plan to keep my OEM AC system as long as I can keep it charged. It is as cold, if not colder than the system in my 2011 335d. Damn EPA, now I understand R134a is going to be phased out.
