So long, friends

Gentleman,

The time has come, and in the next few weeks I will be saying goodbye to my 6er. I have considered multiple cars, and I almost pulled the trigger on a new M6 and most recently, a Noble M400, however, I will be dailh driving a normal car, ie. my Civic, and driving it for as long as I can stand; not by force, but by choice. I digress, my time on these boards has been great and if any of you pass through Wichita, feel free to PM me for a few cocktails. Enjoy these cars, and this is not a goodbye; I will still keep an eye on the forum and contribute here and there.

Thanks again,
JP

Damn, another long-timer hits the road. Sorry to see you go JP. You definitely know your cars and I know I'll miss the occasional thrashing you dole out, always made me laugh.

The Noble is pretty exotic, did you consider anything else?

Don't be a stranger....

Yes, it has been almost four long years with my 6er. I definitely take those comments as great compliments coming from the 6er Don!

I did consider a few other cars, some exotic, some not (3er, 5er, GTR, SL, XKR) but I am going to a very, very minimalistic, sensible approach for the next few years, so I can thoroughly enjoy my 30's and 40's to the fullest (I am only 25). Although, I know I will give in to something in a about 2-3 years tops.

I will definately remain active on this board, the Honda forum crowd isn't quite up to my shall we say "intellect."

hi! I can guarantee when you do come to sell your 6 er you will really miss it! I have never had a car in all of the ones I have owned that have come close to it, as Yorgi says don't be a stranger to the forum! I said goodbye but I still find this forum the best and most interesting and so still try to contribute where I can.........Some of the cars you mention are all have character which is what the 6 series has in abundance....

I keep telling myself I'll upgrade to a new 6er, just gotta keep my 08 intact until one of my screwball business schemes kicks in... But with my history more than one soul has lamented that I'll be buried in my car.

You will miss it.

I just dropped $1500 on brakes and some cosmetic non ex warranty items, and have convinced myself that it has another 50hp... Vrmmmm

Good luck, you will be back.

Good luck and don't be a stranger. I had no idea you are 25! I can see where you would have a problem with the Civic forums, especially when you don't tolerate stupidity very long.

Wow, suprised and flattered by the responses and enthralled that many here felt that much like the liver, stupidity must be punished.

No, the Civic will not become some teenager's wet dream, I would probably rather walk on my hands than drive a modded Honda.

I know I will be back soon, probably sooner than I would like; whether it ends up here, P-car, F-car, etc. I won't be able to stay away long.

The bimmerfest app will remain on my phone and I will check-in from time to time.

Hard to leave this board. I traded my 6er about a year ago and still visit the board. I rarely post but still like to read this message board. The 6 was an awesome car, and I really enjoyed my 2 years of ownership. My wife drove the 6 as a daily driver...with a new grand baby, and spending more time on the road it made sense for us to go back to a SUV so we purchased a 2011 Cadillac SRX. She is happy, and it serves the purpose. You will miss it....I miss mine but have other toys so it isn't too bad.
