Rear spring and shocks

I bought a 1993 525it touring. One of the previous owners had the LAD shocks replaced with Bilstein BME-2006 shocks. The rear end is too low by 1-2 inches. Anyone know if the springs are different and if so which ones do I need? I'm going for the stock height. Also, which stock SRS stearing wheels are interchangable? Thanks in advance Herman

the shocks dont control the ride height, unless they are preloading the springs which is dangerous.

steering wheels before 93ish are the same from the start of BMW till then. mid 93 and on are compatable. Basically prefacelift E34, all E30, all E32 and the VERY early E36 have the smaller spline, then the E36, E38 and facelift E34 are the bigger spline. As yours is 93 its probably non-airbag now which means that to install an airbag wheel you need to install a later steering coloumn not to mention the wiring and sensors etc. If your has an airbag, then all E34 and E36 airbag wheels are combatable.

to add to the confusion my 93 E34 Touring has the prefacelift steering colum, but facelift everything else so maybe just maybe they didnt put an airbag in it till later than 93 for the tourings

Hope this makes sence.

I know the shocks don't control the ride height. My question is are the springs stiffer than th LDS springs thereby raising the rear end. How would I go about raising the rear end? Thanks for responding.

My car had edc which is about the same thing, the spring were replaced with eibach lowering springs b/c the self leveling system parts are very very expensive. Someone probably did the same thing with your car. Personally I like the look of a lowered car however http://www.bimmerspecialist.com/?gcl...FSFe7AodMT5ZZQ has oem springs for your touring
