Custom Stereo Help, GPS

Hi, this is my first post on the forum so forgive me if it is a dumb question:

In the X5's that have the GPS screen in them, is it still possible to install a custom stereo deck like a Kenwood or whatever?

Good day,

First and foremost, WELCOME!!!

Having been an instructor for the Army, I will say that ALMOST no question is stupid when you don't know the answer... Generally, I would give the resources to find the answer... Since this isn't the Army or a classroom, I'll give you my answer...

......... I'm sure anything is possible... It would just depend on how far you are willing to alter the looks of your dash assembly... Maybe I'm just getting old, but I think the factory audio system in my X5 is amazing!

A good resource for finding almost anything you would want to know about your X5 (or any BMW on this site) is the "Search" function on the right in the black line above the blue one that starts your post... There is a wealth of knowledge that would amaze you!!

Good luck!!

Cheers!!

the quick answer is yes, BUT the head unit for the radio and NAV system are 1 unit so the NAV system will have to go as well. I didn't have NAV in my 04 but did the wholesale replacement of everything with one of the aftermarket systems built specifically for the E53, works well but required a lot of cutting to fit.

Awesome thanks for the help guys, I appreciate both posts!

Probably don't want to rip out the Nav as well, I just wondered because my 330xi doesn't have Nav or anything special (including Bluetooth).

Thanks again!

Do these units offer M.I.D. info? I just got my 03 and think I'd miss it if it was gone.
