E31 M70 Timing Chain Tensioner

Hello All,

My E31 project continues to develop and I couldn't be happier. Recently I installed the WOKKE chip set and am now enjoying it more than ever!

I've had an oil drip that I suspected was from the right front valve cover area. I now believe it's associated with the timing chain tensioner.

I intend to replace this assembly and can see a total of nine parts that make up the component. It doesn't appear to be sold as an assembly but rather an assortment of individual parts.

I would appreciate the benefit of the experience I know many of you have with this oil drip and timing chain tensioner issue.

Thank you in advance!

It's the O-rings that go bad, Your going to need the O-rings and the black plastic end cover, It's a cheap fix but a little tight when replacing the spring because of the pressure needed to push down at an angle but is very doable!
