How come there is no mention of the new TFT front panel?

Is this still happening in the USA?

One thing I noticed when the LCI was announced was the addition of the parking assistant (5DP). One thing to keep in mind here is that this is a software function of the electric power steering system on the F10 which suggests that the F01/F02 are transitioning from traditional hydraulic power steering assist to electric. This is also suggested by the absence of the option on the xDrive cars. On the F10 the xDrive cars can't have parking assist as it requires electric power steering and the steering on the xDrive cars is hydraulic.

If this is true and the F01 is getting electric steering then I'm thrilled that I got my 2012. I can't stand the electric steering in my wife's F10.

Is it just me or does the facelift f01 front bumper look like the PRE-facelift e60 5 series, while the PRE-facelift f01 bumper look like the LCI e60 5 series?

It's like a weird reverse game. To me, the current f01 front looks more modern than the facelift. Because the facelift causes too many associations with my "old" pre-facelift 5 series.

Also don't see any difference in "new seats", they looked and felt exactly the same when I saw the car live at the dealer presentation.

Yep - we get the WTF front panel .

Seriously, I'm bummed for those wanting the new car, since that is something I would have really wanted/looked forward to.

I was all over this 2013 BMW 7 series but I am seriously thinking now about waiting and seeing what the 2014 S Class is going to have and look like. You can be assured it is going to have a full TFT instrument panel and a great sound system.

Very dissappointing. I assume they just didn't take the time and effort to get the TFT approved for US markets.
