Tunelink Bluetooth iPhone

So I was at bestbuy and I already have a crappy fm modulator for my car. I ran across a device called Tunelink Bluetooth wireless fm modulator for the car, it plugs into the lighter socket, pairs with your iPhone and allows you to listen to music thru an fm station.

I read the reviews and they were 50/50 but I took a chance and bought the device. I downloaded the app and plugged the small lighter like device into my lighter socket. It paired right away and I opened the app and let the program find my location and it selected the best fm station for me to tune the radio to.

My music can be played from the app, or thru the music program on the phone plus you can listen to pandora, ect. The phone remains in my pocket and it starts right off with your last played playlist automatically.

The fm reception is pretty good, a lot better than the other one I own by Belklin. The device also has RDS so all of your information like artist and song title are displayed on the iDrive.

So, for 100 bucks I finally got my tunes back in my car, it displays on idrive, and it remains in my pocket.

No wires, you do have an option to charge thru a USB port, and you can also hook it up thru a 1/8" mini din connector, but I think you would loose the RDS.

I am in no way affiliated with this company, I have a 2002 745i and don't want to spend 500.00 to listen to my tunes. Some reviews stated that if you live in a large populated area it may be had to get a clear station??

Mine works great

Great writeup. I tried this device and it did work great for me. I was satisfied with all the features it had. The fact that i did not have wires running to the device was a plus. Auto pairing was also another feature i enjoyed, more so when camping out or relaxing outside my car, i could still use my phone and change the music on pandora or iphone/pad/. The only issue i had was on long trips, I had to keep changing radio stations which is common on FM modulators.

Hence, I went a different route.

Tape-ask + Belkin Tunedeck + Bluetooth A2DP Iphone/pad dock adapter.

I know this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but Its my simplistic solution to an otherwise hard problem. Sorry for jacking your thread.

Oh, BTW. I will suggest to stay away from places like amazon as you need to get the latest hardware ie, the Bluetooth dc plugin.

People have had problems with older hardware, so stay away from big wholesale outlet type places.

No not odd at all, I have thought about swapping the ask to tape many times. Even better would be to swap to the MD or Mini Disc system, I used to have all kinds of MD, recorder, and they hold compressed mp3.

I still like this option, it's still FM but its also hands free, and you get the RMS reads so you can just flip threw your playlist as they read out.

Someday I will just upgrade the car.

In my definition of plug and play, yes.

Nothing else required other than inserting the tunedeck into the tape deck, connecting power cable from cig lighter to tunedeck, slotting the A2DP adapter onto the 30pin ipod and pairing your phone to it. Oh, and dont forget to select "TAPE" on MMI

Whereas you can carry this and the OP's A2DP adapter from one car or to another, this specific iphone A2DP adapter allows you to carry it to your home and use it on a dock capable stereo.

Advantage of bluetooth A2DP setups is that they are its device agnostic. Meaning, you can use most devices be it iphone/ipad/android/symbian/winmo etc

Another comparable product to the belkin tunedeck would be the ideck.
http://www.woorikiri.com/attach/1/1375048479.jpg

I chose the tunedeck because i already had it, and already had the ipod A2DP adapter too. if i were to do it again, I would get the above, just because

That's becasue he called it a "Truelink". It's actually called the Tunelink and made by New Potato Technologies.

I've had mine now for a couple of weeks and I LOVE it.
