X3 pricing advice
i considering a X3. Both the 2012 and the 2013 have a sticker of ~$48,500. my dealer is offering me 3500k off the 2012 and just 1000k of the 2013. What is the average discount i should expect when i start shopping around?
TIA |

6% off MSRP might be a reasonable price point.

i just spent the last week negotiating a deal on a 2013 x3 35i and am thrilled with the final numbers.
sticker 54,475...loaded with all options..... final price 49,100 or a full 1000 below dealer invoice. here in south carolina, most of the dealer allocations are going to special orders already in the system. my bmw guy says that the very best deals are on the 35i because of the already higher price and perception of it being a bigger/less fuel efficient engine...bigger yes, less efficient, NO.... i am AMAZED by this car!! even as compared to my 2012 x5d, it is incredibly powerful with a strong torgue feel and smooth acceleration band... feels like i got the deal of the century.....best of luck to everyone here. |

The X3 MSRP is 9.89% over wholesale in Ontario.
I negotiated a 5.9% discount. But... you are only talking a few dollars on a $60K car. How much are you really saving by negotiating hard? $300 to $600 additional off MRSP. Really? Is it really worth it is it? Just asking. Last edited by lbjgh; 07-01-2012 at 05:05 AM. |

300 for scheduling test drive through the new bmw iphone app...no i missed the olympic event in my area so was not able to utilize the credit for that.
also did not hurt that i just purchased a 2012 x5d at the end of last year...i beat them up on that as well but not quite as great a deal...sticker 68k and got them to 60k including the eco credit of 2500...same credit is up to 4500 now i believe. most of the cars here in sc are special orders and many people choose to take delivery at the factory in spartanburg...almost all of my local dealers allocation goes to these special orders so very little discount...all of my deals have happened on existing stock....not exactly what i want but close enough....the savings offsets anything im missing in options for sure! good luck to you |

they do have a great sales team here..my sales guy is awesome and definitely understands the type of deal i am looking for....he evens keeps an eye out for any possible opportunities and keeps me in the loop...since most of these guys are paid on overall volume not per car commission, they actually will work harder to get you the best deal especially as it compares to other bmw dealers...
my guy in charleston is andrew....the best...i can forward his info if you like..i figure he has probably saved me over $14k in the last 6 months! i am certain that given the limited inventory everywhere, i just got very lucky on my end...timing is everything when it comes to some of this stuff im afraid! |

I would aim for 7% off MSRP - the $1,000 promo if you can get it. Good luck.

Finally made it in on Tuesday to place my order....car as follows:
2013 x3 35 Alpine white Sport package Premium package ( beige leather ) Technology Dynamic handling Cold (1) Apple apps Total msrp: $54745 Doc fee: $161.38 Appearance fee ( no idea what this is...forgot to ask ): $189 Plate transfer: $145 I asked for $750 over invoice ( invoice: $50310 ) and offered $51060. They countered with a "best offer" of $52300. I am going back tomorrow to do some more work. |

Are you prepared to walk away?
I would at least eat the Plate Transfer fee, and probably the Doc fee - unless you're prepared to do the plate transfer on your own time and at your own expense. Appearance fee? Is that another name for Dealer Prep? Try declining it. If they don't bite then try adding another $250. If you don't like the new number then walk away. Call them back in four weeks (7/28, 4 days before EOM) and ask them if they would like to reconsider. |

@Grantsi That sounds like an ok price if your willing to only take delivery in Chicago. I personally would consider asking one of the fester sponsors to price your vehicle for a PCD delivery (probably would get your offer price, a nice tour of the factory and demo of your vehicles capabilities and a nice long drive to break in the beast). However one additional thing is that you would get a bargaining chip to use to get your price that you want from the Chicago dealer (since most dealers on the fest are going to give you a) invoice b) 500 + invoice. )
Happy hunting on the price.

To the OP.
I would suggest trying to again see what PCD delivery price you can get. If it matches up with what your getting from your local dealer, than that's the best you can do. Apparently the X3s are in high demand? I would however talk invoice+250-500 then try to subtract incentives such as (team usa =$1000) to help push that deal even lower (first see they agree to your invoice+xxx then throw in the bit about Team USA).

I would absolutely do the PCD, however, we have a new born AND work obligations that would make a trip to SC ( at this time at least ) near impossible. As such, delivery in Chicago is the way to go.
As for my willingness to walk away - I will consider that option after today's dealer visit - if my price isn't met ... then it may become an option. By the way...is there any "conquest" cash out there right now...we currently own an Acura. |

Are any Bimmerfest dealers located in the Chicago land area...if so...anyone willing to sell the car listed above to me for Invoice +750? Just thought I would throw that out there...please send me a PM if you are. I'll sign immediately.

We just placed an order for my wife for PCD delivery (7/18) for a fairly loaded X3 28i (AW, Chestnut interior, sienna wood, sports activity, premium, Cold I, DHP, Convenience, rear cameras/park distance, cargo net). We are using Patrick BMW in Schaumburg and are purchasing through BMW's executive preferred program (EPP), where price is set at 1500 under invoice (your company has to be signed up BMW). Send me a PM and I can tell the salesperson dealing with me to also work with you, I’ll tell him I “met” you through the Porsche forums |

Dealers in No. CA are offering only $1,000 off the MSRP for the 2013 X3 models. That's because they are so popular.

Still deciding between the X3 35i (Tech, Prem, Cold, Audio, M Sports) for $52800 or an X5 35i (conv, nav, heated seat) for $51900. I still have to apply the $1K drive event and $500 BMWCCA rebate.

Did you build one online first? It makes all the difference in the world when you have a figure to negotiate with. Good luck!
