S52/S54 M-Roadster/Coupe with 6-speed?

Has anyone ever heard or seen of it? Anyone know if any of the tuning companies can put a 6-speed tranny in? Post pics if possible.

Sure its possible... Not reall that hard... Two different options...

But at the moment they are both about 4500 and up not including installation.

//MFrog over on Roadfly has done it on his sweet Hamann Coupe. Buldogge who posts here and over on Bimmerforums has done it as well.

The 6-speed tranny from the E36 Euro M3 will work, but you have to shorten the driveshaft and shift linkage a bit to make it work. If I remember correctly you need to have them both shortened approx 4" or so.

I will be going down that path one day, but its kinda uncharted territory. I mean, no one makes a driveshaft, shift linkage, or a bunch of other parts that you have to fabricate yourself or have made.

I am researching it, anyone want to go in on the Zionsville install CD so we can figure out what exactly it takes to install this thing?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was just curious to know since I don't own a bimmer but I really want to get a M Roadster or a M Coupe. Maybe by the end of the year. So I just wanted to know if anyone had a 6-speed tranny. Thanks and kudos!
