Exclamation 2010 328ic Bluetooth or IPhone 4 hardware Issue?

My first BMW 328i convertible-fun car at first. Then I started experiencing a few issues one particularly very aggravating and bothersome regarding the car's Bluetooth or my iPhone 4?! For example, when I'm on a call for business, the person talked to would get irrated because they can no longer endure the loud background noise, muffled sound and words, and try to figure out what word it was that I said. Conversation is fine if I take them off Bluetooth and use my phone's speaker. However, that would defeat the purpose of Bluetooth and I'd be driving unsafe.
I've taken my car to the dealership several times for this problem. I've done all they recommended. Update software, check (iOS 5). Disconnect and forget my iPhone 4 from my car with a 5 digit passcode. Restored my iPhone. Got a new SIM chip. Next thing to do is get a replacement iPhone (I'd hate to use my upgrade)?!

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is my car's Bluetooth defective or is this an issue with Apple iPhone 4's hardware?

Starting to regret having traded in my 2008 Lexus GS 350 for my first 2010 328 i BMW convertible. I had issues that got repaired thank goodness to the first 50k maintenance warranty. I pay way too much a month to have problems at 37k miles. No bueno. Now, I'm having TPM malfunctions when tire pressure is correctly adjusted.

I just hope if I'm ever on an emergency call the dispatcher hears me well.

I own a 2011 and an iPhone 4. Feedback I have gotten is the Bluetooth over the car is crystal clear, so I'm thinking it could be a hardware problem with the cars microphone. Do you have access to a friends phone that you can pare with the car? This will at least tell you if your phone is the problem.
