I have an 02 with the CD not the DVD and I was told that I don't have the latest firmware. Can the CD version of navigation firmware be upgraded and if so where do i get the firmware from?

just go on Ebay or contact Paper and just purchase the latest map DVD for the current year. Also please read the entire thread cause it gives instructions in the beginning on that.

sorry guy you cannot, unless you go a full retrofit upgrade which includes: MMI, Navigation Unit and for good measures ASK unit from a post 2006 and on model/s.

Upgrade not successful

Hi

I have 06 730i (E65) with software version 9.1.10 hex
I followed your instructions and looks OK until step 4 of the upgrade where the system recognize the CD as firmware upgrade. Then it very quickly show progress bar and cancel the process and display no nvai cd, I never get to the "yes" step at all! the DVD in the trunk keep working for 2 min or so then eject the CD. I checked the system again and nothing change and when I insert the MAP DVD it works as usual. what am I doing wrong?! (BTW, I repeated the process maybe 10 times with different copies from different sites and still the same result)

I noticed your location is in KSA .... is that for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia?

The firmware and instruction provided is for E65/E66 in US and Canada only.

In deed I am in Saudi Arabia, but I don't think this matter at all. I downloaded the same version form many different locations and the instruction where almost the identical (the hidden menu and upgrade procedure). I made many CDs from these copies and tried them all and have the same result... I thought I could get some help from some enthusiasts...

Regards

So I tried to update my firmware/ software version for my CD navigation (NAVI01) from 7.2.8 to 7.3.2 and I was successful; however, it's now stuck at the following "software loading is in progress screen". I have tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting and still stuck at the same screen when I go to the navigation. All the rest of my idrive functions work fine. Suggestions?

Can anyone advise on the best source for updated map DVD's for east USA for a 2008 750Li? I didn't check the firmware version yet; just picked the car up today. But I did notice the nav. maps are more than limited and seem old/off. There were whole streets missing from a town nearby that aren't new streets, at least not in 30 yrs.

Do I have to get them (the DVD/s) from BMW for hundreds (or similar) or are they downloadable, etc? Any risk in taking the current DVD out of the navigation module in the trunk to check its version details? Any risk in downloading map files?

Any recommendation on tires for 750Li. I have at the back PZero 285/30/21. I'm trying to shy away from PZero because of the road noise.

Dude, really, come on.... PLEASE READ AND USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. There was a disclaimer you said ok too before fully signing up. You acknowledge (AGREED TOO) not to do stuff like this......
