Exactly. I've had my car for a week now, and since I bought the case, I've had no need to take my key out of my pocket. (love the comfort access) No trunk popping of any kind.

Maybe I'm missing something here but how does having a case mean you dont ever have to take the key out of your pocket? Isn't that a result of having comfort access?

Yes you are right. Mainly for the reasons others have stated, no accidental button pushes with the case.

Maybe he was in the habit of constantly checking his fob for scratches but doesn't have to now?

I have not experienced any accidental button pushes but I can see how opening the trunk while driving down the freeway could be a disaster. Is that even possible or is there a safety check against that if the car is in motion?

These are first world problems I have not had before since I've always needed the key in the ignition to start my car.

I am still waiting for the M Sport blue one to arrive. It's in Europe already.

Picked up two this week at the local BWM of San Diego Dealership. $22.50 with the BMW CCA 10% Discount. One for me , one for Wifey.

key cover

I found this website and decided to try out their case cover. The cover is a hard plastic case and does a pretty good job of protecting the key. It just snaps together. I wanted a case where I could put a key ring on with more keys. I like it. Let me know what you guys think. www.Fortifiedfobs.com

Does it protect the buttons from getting pushed by accident? You can get OEM for less $ and also put keys on it if you so desire.
cheers

Strange it doesn't come with one, to prevent button presses.

It doesn't cover the keys but it recesses the buttons so I feel it helps. Not that I had an issue with it before though. I feel likes it's worth 20 dollars. Just a change from the normal I feel.

This is nice. How much was this ?

I paid 10$ for a rubber one on eBay last year. But yours looks better and def less work to take the fob out of a pocket.

The OEM key fob case is way too thick and bulky for my taste, so I use a thin leather case that fits like a glove. It actually looks much nicer in real life than on the photo. The pictograms that look a bit chalk-lined in the photo are simply etched into the leather and aren't colored in, so don't stand out as much. The fit is just excellent and does prevent accidental depressing of the unlock button, so my trunk finally stays shut like it's supposed to.

This one is pretty nice. I got one free from the dealer when I bought the car, I didn't want to use it because it too bulky but I am reconsidering now since the fob got a bit scratched up.

I got a Hellrot (it means bright red!) case from Fortified Fobs because I'm chronically misplacing stuff. Having the bright red case makes it more visible.

I've dropped my keyfob several times and it now has all these ugly marks on it.

The only problem is I don't like any of the keyfob cases.
