M-Sport or Sport 2012 535ix? local dealer or NYC dealer?
Hi guys- I was looking for feedback on whether I should get my new 2012 535ix in sport or m-sport? Also, any feedback on whether I should by from my new local dealer, or take a five hour drive to save $2K out of pocket? I am in a 2010 535ix and the lease ends next month. I'm going to get a 2012 535ix with sport or m-sport and premium, cold, premium sound, and tech. Thanks to tarf, I've been able to really zero in on the numbers and I now have a really good understanding of the leasing and what I should be paying and how it breaks down. As well, based on info learned on this forum and edmunds forums, I'm realizing that it's a buyers market for a 2012. If you really do your homework and call around, they can be had for $2-$3K under invoice. My local dealer must think I'm not that savvy because they are looking for $2K more a month out of pocket to reach my monthly number on a 12K miles 36 month lease. Through a good friend, I'm working with a big volume dealer just outside of NYC that will sell me the same basic car, but m-sport rather than the sport one here locally, for $2K less. So, this thread is two fold. How much do I press the local guy to step to the plate to do the deal, do I ask for a match? I have business in NYC next week anyway, so it would work out quite well to take a drive down there and return my current lease and pick up the new one. Any feedback or thoughts on this is appreciated. Sport or M-Sport? They are both really sweet. I think I may like the 19' wheels on the sport better than the m-sport wheels.
I can't wait to get into the new ride. I'll be sure to post pics. I'm getting black and will tint the windows and black out the kidney grill surround but not the fins. Psyched for the 600 watt twin sub sound system too. Thanks- CHill ![]() |

M Sport by a country mile. But be sure to get the ARS and SAT as they are not included within the M sport package.

Msport seemed a bit too boy racer for me, so I got sport. Differences in2012 model are cosmetic only.

Scott at World Wide BMW, NW of the City. I read about that dealer either here on an edmunds forum and how they had a lot of five series in stock. He cut right to the chase and then gave me a straight up deal once he realized I knew what I was going to pay and for what. You know anything about this dealer? A friend who lives near me said he knows a couple bimmer owners localy that have driven down there because of the great deals they put out.

Wide World does have pretty good deals ... that's what attracted me there initially. But beware of their after-sales service, sales GM especially. Every dealership is probably a mixed bag but just a word of caution on this one based on personal experience with them.
