Upsifting slow- getting progressively worse

Anyone else with a 528 (ours in a 2011) have a problem with the transmission holding a gear and failing to up shift in a normal manner. I noticed this initially when going up a grade, when it leveled off or the engine load dropped the vehicle would not up shift for a while maintaining high rpms. It seems to be getting progressively worse to where it did it on flat ground at 70 mph with no excessive engine load. It hung in 6th or 7th for a noticeable period of time, much longer than it should have.

I have a 2006 X3 that did this when pulling hills, there was a reprogramming that took care of that problem. I have not heard of a fix on this forum for the problem on the F10. This sound familiar to anyone?

Mine has the exact opposite behavior... it seems to change gear too soon.
Do you have the latest SW update on your car?

Thanks,
Daniel

I just drove a 335i yesterday that had the exact same problem, especially in sport mode (did get to try sport+). Maybe it's a feature of the sport programming?

Well yes, that's the whole purpose of DS mode. Try your 528i in regular D mode.

Agreed with above, when my car is in DS it does exactly that... its not a problem though its keeping the engine in its power band for "sport" mode.

Thanks,
Daniel
