Climate comfort windscreen radar detector mounting?

I have a 750iAH which has the climate comfort windscreen. As far as I know it may have CC windows all round. The problem is that while it may reduce the cabin temperature (not as far as I can tell in Dallas), it seems to block radar signals 95%. With my Valentine 1, I used to get 20-30 seconds of warning. Now I only get warning when I'm about 50 feet away - really. Initially I thought that it was just the police using instant on mode, but after some research, it seems that the CC windscreen is to blame. I drove an R8 the other day, and immediately found verifiable bogies and a lot more alerts.

I don't think the CC windscreen has any areas that are blanked out. Does it? I've also tried mounting it in the center of the windscreen, and above the rear view mirror with no effect.

Other than going to an externally mounted system, or driving defensively, does anyone have any suggestions or insight?

The Climate Glass is one of my FAVOURITE features of the AH 7!!! But, it also interferes with our gate transponder for our Gated Community we live in. I had to put the bar code on my front headlight (, because it would not work on the inside of the windescreen like most other vehicles. The same thing in our '11 Range Rover with Climate Glass!!

The black dotted are around the rvm works perfectly for my OGS RFDI toll collection. I would think it would work for other stuff as well.
You can always get a stir plus. You also would be able to filter out various false alarms triggered by cars radar based assistance systems.

Samething for Benz S class. The glass blocks out the signal.

For my AH7, I discovered the same issues of my radar detector (escort 9500i w/ GPS) where in my previous car's it'll give me 15-30 seconds warning but now it'll go off right as I'm passing a speedtrap or photo radar van. I tried repositioning as well, most positions on the windshield my RD wouldn't even get reception for the GPS. When mounted above the rearview mirror (around the dotted area the manual says is unlaminated and to place toll transponders) it gets GPS reception but same issue with the practically useless short detection range.

I'm thinking a external mounted radar detector (and laser jammers?) might be the only option. Anyone have a recommendation and experiences with how much the setup (equipment + install) costs?

There are two cutouts on either side behind there mirror where it is attached that do not have the film. This is where I keep my EZ-Pass.

That's my experience as well - the dotted area also blocks radar. I held up the detector to the dots - no luck, opened the window, alerts.

The dotted area doesnt block radar signals per se. radar doesnt work as well because it isnt aimed at the rear view mirror. you can read the manual for the detector where it states to mount the detector low on either side ot the windshield. i think thats because law enforcement aims at either headlamps or the front license plate.

My car is at the dealer. They're retrofitting M-Sport Steering Wheel. I'll take photos when I get it back.

Chris, post a pic of where you mounted it. My Valnetine is adjacent to the rear view mirror, on the driver's side. I fabricated a metal piece that fits between the windshield and the glass with the other side cut down to fit into the female socket of the mounting bracket. I'll take a pic if it interests you. Mine works fine.

It's not the position - I tried various positions and moving it around when I knew a cop had the radar on (I opened the window). It's the climate comfort glass that's just on the ActiveHybrid that's blocking the radar signals.

What band do the cops in your area use and what model is your detector? There's just one type of cc glass. Its optional on our cars but standard on hybrids I guess.
