water pump suggestions

Hi guys,

Since I've read on here about the temperamental cooling systems I have decided to overhaul mine. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on what one to purchase. I have read about the graff, hepu, stewart, bmw oem with composite propeller....I was wondering what experiences you have had with each brand of wp? Also I am replacing the t-stat and wp first then plan of changing the radiator and hoses in the next month or so.

Thanks in advance for any feedback

I'm in favor of the Stewart pump. All you have to do is look at it I'm comparison to the others to see what a quality piece it is. Of course, it costs about 2 1/2 times what the others do but I plan on keeping my car forever so I'm happy to spend the $ for peace of mind.

I just.bought the Stewart one also. It came highly recommended. Autohausaz.com has the cheapest price. Get it with the metal impeller instead of the plastic one

Hepu has my vote, I personally don't see value in getting a more expensive one, after all it's just simple non-displacement pump that provides flow.

I got a 99 528 and I got my replacement from Car Quest and for the six months or so that I've had it, it's been great. Nothing fancy, just a generic branded pump.

Hepu.

And don't forget to replace your expansion tank. With an OEM one only.

Like Fudman said, the expansion tank should be replaced, because when those original ones get damaged, the get really bad really quick.

Why not just replace everything in one shot and be done with it. Doing the cooling maintenance in stages makes little sense.
