mojave vs sparkling bronze

Saw a mojave metallic 328i parked close to a sparkling bronze X5. Just couldn't tell the difference between the two. One of the CAs couldn't either...he told me they were the same color.

Anyone else have trouble telling the difference between them? On the website, sparking bronze looks lighter, but it simply did not look that way in person.

Maybe it was the lighting, but I think they're fairly different. Mojave is a grey with a brownish cast particularly in strong light, but looks much greyer in lower light. Sparkling Bronze is always a shade of brown regardless of what light it's in.

I saw and ordered the Mojave. It's definitely a darker brown, not a lighter bronze or tan. It couldn't possibly be confused with a lighter color.

Did you see sparkling bronze too? That is a dark brown as well.

To be fair, no I didn't. But, just to clarify my point, Mojave is not a light color of tan or beige or brown. It's a darker color.

I was very interested in the Mojave because the website makes it look like a darker metallic brown. However, when I went to the dealer lot to look at it, I was very disappointed. It was much lighter than I expected, and looked more like a gold/tan... what I would have expected the Sparkling Bronze to look like. Even the window sticker said it was Mojave, unless it was a mistake.

Granted, it was overcast and lightly raining that day, so I don't know how much that affected the color. But I certainly didn't like it at that time.

The Majave is a bit darker than my Sparkling Bronze - just got my on 8/28/12 and absolutely love the color. But it does change colors depending on the light shining on it as some of you have mentioned.

I've been interested in this color because it may look clean longer? Which one shows dirt more? Which is succeptable to swirl marks?

It seems every company has this color on their cars. I usually call it "pantyhose".

I am thinking my Sparkling Bronzw would show dirt a little less with it being a lighter shade than the Majave. It is amazing to me how it will appear lighter in direct sun but during a cloudy day, it get a little darker. The photo in my signature clearly shows what I'm taking about (see my album), the color in person is awesome!!!
