There has been a change on the bmwusa web site -- the picture it showed before today was a reasonable representation of my estoril blue m-sport. As of this morning, it is now showing a red sport-line. The line-items below the picture have not changed.
The automated phone system still just says "Your vehicle is in production...", but this time I told it I wanted to talk to a person. The very nice lady that answered the phone, told me my car is in the paint shop, so at least it is not in limbo!

Mine has been saying "Vehicle is being transported to the port of exit" for 2 days. Does it take that long to transport from the factory to the port?

I am in "quality control ". Hopefully it won't stay there long and be off to the port. I figure 4-5 weeks to delivery.

Its always the last week or 2 that drives you nuts. My last Mini was in transit to the dealer and I found it sitting in their back lot ( I was quite surprised). Nobody had logged it in as received.

Does anyone know how and where the EPA/CARB process works? My 328 xi was supposed to be finished yesterday, it was in the paint shop so is getting close and I wouldn't be surprised if its finished. However, I have been told by PCD they can't give me a date because the car has not been approved by EPA/CARB and rightfully they do not want to have someone show up without a car waiting. PCD mentioned that the car would be shipped to Charleston but until its gets EPA/CARB approval it won't be allowed to leave the port. EPA/CARB thinks that its a new car, I presume because its the first time the F30 x as been produced. Does it have to undergo testing and if so where is this done and how long after do they give their approval? Obviously if its done it the states then we have to wait for one to be delivered, hence more delay. Hopefully, if so BMW will arrange for a quicker deliver but does EPA want a random car to test? I am concerned as PCD slots are probably being gobbled up by others with non x cars. PCD has stated they will prioritize slots based on the time stamp on the PCD request. I have no problems with PCD as they have always been straight with my CA. And of course, it could affect any one waiting for delivery of an x car as the car could be held in port. Does any one have experience or knowledge on this situation? Thanks!!

We are in the same Boat so to speak. We ordered ours in early June for a Fall Delivery at PCD. We wanted a 2013 335i . We were also told the same thing. Its confusing because the 2013 335i is the same engine , and should have the same EPA/CARB information as the 2012 model. We are 112 status for a Fall Pickup. we don't want that date to drift into November/December and a Cross Country Drive in potential Weather going back to San Deigo. Good luck with yours Too. Hope we hear great news Soon !!!!!!!

I don't understand in your case, its the same car. Then it should at worst be a paperwork thing. Government is too big and not accountable. Hopefully maybe one the the other people will have an answer. Is the EPA mad at BMW because they had to change the 328 mpg ratings or just want us to by a Chevy Volt?

Please leave your political commentary out of the discussion. BMW acknowledged that the 328i did not meet EPA claimed mileage and changed the published and advertised numbers. If they feel they can score better in 2013 they will change it back, but likely they won't.

1330 = 328i SULEV
133P = 328i South Africa
133Q = 335i Germany

I ordered a 2013 328i xDrive (my first car purchase and BMW!) on July 3rd and since it's taking the place of an allocated lot model for the dealership, it's already order status 112 with no production date yet.

My model is 133U. I'm guessing the U is for the 328i xDrive variant, but anyone know which country this stands for? I don't have a VIN yet...

Edit: Never mind, 133U is generic 328i xDrive, which would mean Germany by default. Found a pricing sheet with the codes, including the South African produced xDrive codes. Apparently any 3 series xDrive models won't be produced in SA until December 2012.

Status 160!!!

Vehicle has been released to a carrier and is awaiting transport. It was only in status 152 (paint shop) yesterday, so the tracking system must have been off a couple of days...not complaining here It should make it on board the Tomar which is scheduled to leave on July 14...let the party begin!

Just checked and it is 193 Arrived at Port of Exit ("Your vehicle is at the port of exit waiting for a shipping vessel". No information about which ship it will go. Hopefully it can get on Talisman(7/11)

So for vehicles destined to Texas, do they come into Savannah, GA then?

I am told by the phone system "your vehicle is being transported to the port of exit". Hopefully being completed on a Saturday won't be harmful to the quality of the car.

I have never gotten the status codes that others mention, I guess the only way to get that level of detail is to get a report from the salesperson or dealer.

Very wierd the website for my production number says "Your vehicle has left the plant and is ready to ship." Calling the phone numbers says "Your car is in the painshop and is scheduled to be complete on July 9, 2012. I emailed my sales person and he told me it is in the status of "190 - Dispatched From Ag", whatever that means. I just want it to get on a boat!

I am with you I don't know what to believe either. Website shows car still in production, but when I called it stated production is completed and ready to be released to distribution. Still getting closer.

Since I'm in CO it will likely be another 6-8 weeks for me, but still pretty cool.
