Crazy to buy a new 2011 335d now?

Found a great dealer and am close to pulling the trigger.
Price is right (13k off msrp) and warranty is full.
Love the torque but concerned about the fact that it is a 2 yr old new car.
Mistake or good deal?

Ask for another $2000 off and close the deal.

There are some ways in which I think the E9x will be superior to the current model run - particularly with regard to the steering (well, mainly with regard to the steering).

Also, that diesel engine is pretty damn sweet.

I you are not planning to keep the car a while though, I would bet on hefty depreciation. I also can't imagine that maintenance of that rare engine will be inexpensive.

Sweet discount. Nothing wrong with buying it IMO.

Go for it man! I was looking into one and I just ended up buying a Camry Hybrid instead. Would you mind PMing me what the final price ends up being?

Warranty starts on the day of purchase FYI, so nothing wrong with buying that NEW car that's been on the dealer lot for 2 years unless you care about fashion.

Nope warranty starts at the day of service. The dealer might throw an incentive and extend the warranty to 3200 miles or 4 months if I am not mistaken.

I'm biased but the 335d is a sweet ride. I wouldn't trade mine for the F30, that's for dang sure.

Buy the car. It's worth it just for the hydraulic steering alone. I'd like to get ahold of the engineering unit that designed the new electric steering and

This may sound anal, but look closely at the paint.

A 2 year old car on the lot being washed by buffoons can't be good for the paint.

There is a reason why nobody wanted them. Get a 2013 335i with no option for not much more.

Yeah, I love my 2009 335d, have 30K miles. Best 3 series have driven with performance and mpg.
My warranty runs out in Aug 2013. I was not sure whether to buy an extended warranty or not
as I do plan to keep the car and lot of the stuff like maintenance, I do it myself.
Has anyone bought the extended warranty, what the cost is and and what does it cover?

I was looking at something similar (or likely the same since I'm also in the western Philly Burbs) but I couldn't stretch to meet the price so I bought a used D and absolutely love it. I say go for it.

Should there be concern about corrosion in the internals, as the car sat outdoor in the weather element for two years, hardly gotten any lubrication while in idle, and I don't mean the engine was left idling.

On the other hand I don't see depreciation an issue, it is a new car, yet depreciation is taken care of with the $13k discount.

I understand, but it is kinda hard to believe the car sat for 2 years under brand new umbrella at the lot.

this, along with paint and general upkeep, would be my main concern.

on paper it should be a great way to save money on a new car. you do get the warranty if any of the components fail prematurely due to having sat around for two years.

i would be more likely than not to go for it.

Probably he is talking 2 production years, but it phisically it is just slightly over a year old
