Definitely do a two bucket wash, clay bar with plenty of lube and use Duragloss 105 "wax" (technically a sealant). Change the oil and filter at 1000 miles. You would pay for this out of pocket at your BMW center (and they should not reset the computer). Last edited by RockChips; 07-01-2012 at 07:52 AM. |

Congrats!!! You'll love that car! I've had mine for over a year & still find an excuse everyday to take it out for a spin. You just have to get used to NOT step on the gas too much ![]() Post some pics... P.S. I can't imagine how the EPA (if those quoted numbers were accurate) would expect better mileage from a 2012 335i compared to the d. I've averaged 29 mpg on mostly city with some highway in the past 8k miles. Best I ever got was 37 mpg on 75-80 mph cruising on I-5 Seattle to Portland! |

The F30 335i has the 8 spd auto, and its FE numbers really improved because of that. Still not better than the 335d EPA estimates, but much better than the previous 335i. The present 6 cyl diesel offerings in Europe from BMW also use the new 8 spd, and the FE numbers relect that. The F30 330d is over 46mpg combined in the ECE test cycle. Of course that test cycle is way more conservative than the EPA test cycle, so its not easy to figure what the EPA numbers for this car would be, but if you compare the F30 335i vs the F31 330d, you see that the d acheives over 40% better combined FE than the i The F31 d is also only 0.1 sec slower from 0-100kph ,while weighing 85Kg more than the F30 i Last edited by d geek; 07-01-2012 at 10:47 AM. |

Out of pocket? Nah...car sat on lot for 2 years. A good dealer will comp it, just talk to the service and sales manager, be nice but insistent. Drive it for a 1k miles then take it in for the low milage annual change. When I bought my 08 128 vert in Feb 2009 new I just took it in in May 2009 for first oil change (about 2k miles and one year after production date) and got them to comp it because it sat on lot and oil was a year old. Ahh Saintor. Welcome my diesel hating comrade.
People need to spot responding to him because he's quite the character. He will go on and on about how his poverty spec 323i is the best thing in the world compared to a 335d when we all know the d will be faster, be more economical, sound better, and retain better value than any POS poverty spec 323i.

I must admit, with the new 3 ugly face, soft steering and diesel sounding N20, the 335d is a better choice, at such a discount. I just don't think if one likes to throw the car into corners, he would appreciate the extra 500 lbs at the nose.

Hi all
Dealer did an oil change right before I picked it up...still need one in 1k miles? Also, they forgot to update nav maps so they gave me an f30 loaner for the weekend. Boy did I make the right choice. It's the 328i modern line. Really feels soft and although on paper it is supposedly faster it feels very sluggish. Also steering is soft. Doesn't feel like a sports sedan to me. sure missing the D! Also I'm a nut on washing. Have my 2 buckets with grit guards. I'll give her a nice bath and claying then a little porter cable action to rid any dealer induced swirls. Also going to get 3m clear bra later this week. I'll post pics when she arrives home! |

I wouldn't worry about an oil change until the car tells you its time for the next one.
Enjoy your 'd |

Buy it! I bought a 2009 335d back in April (traded my 2002 540iA m-sport). Mine had under 13k miles and was a German car brought to the US. It is a very sweet ride. The engine is awesome. If it has the sport pkg, even better. You can't beat the 428 lbs of torque.

wait- what? The 335d with SCR was only sold in N America. They all were built in Germany and brought over here. What do you mean by above statement in bold? |

Great price. I've seen dealer loaners for more with 20k on the odometer. If I am guessing the car correctly, its black on brown with premium pkg and cold weather?

no this one is black on black with: premium, cold, nav, sat, ipod and htd wheel.
the black on brown at the other dealer had its warranty "clock" start ~10 months ago and they werent ready to deal. |

Damn, I got my CPO with 15k mi for that price. We have the exact same car, lol. You'll enjoy it a lot, and watch your speed, it seems to creep up faster than you'd expect.
