The block of rooms at the Wake Robin Inn is being held until tomorrow so if you are planning on staying there get your reservations made,

We are heading to Lime Rock in a few hours for the Historic Festival coming back Monday and then on Thursday we are heading to Watkins Glen for the Vintage Grand Prix.

So the Wake Robin Inn is out for us...

Ms. Bemo found another place ~ 10 miles away from Lakeville, for ~ $150 per night in Sheffield, MA. Here is the URL:http://rblodge.com/

LQAddict, us, and another friend are going to be staying there. If you want to join the column and save few bucks, go ahead and book and let us know

I am at Lime Rock today for the vintage races. "Sideways Simon Kirkby" just won a race in the BMW CSL that Sam Posey raced at Sebring and Daytona. DSX and ///M-Rated bought autographed pictures of that car (signed by Sam Posey) at the C2C4 auction,

OK I'll put you down for Saturday at LRP and Dinner at the Falls Village Inn.

You really should consider the Wall of America on Sunday. Ellen Posey is going to give us a private tour and her paintings are amazing.

Chuck, my wife may be joining me for the wall of Sunday, so I'm a definite for Saturday (solo) and a tentative duo for Sunday.

Greetings Fellow CtoCers, NEFFRAs, and Festers!

I've been putting this off, thinking somehow to make the schedule work, but my time frame this fall just wont support everything I have planned.

As much as I want to do this trip with you guys, a number of things have put me in the tough spot of having to back out. I'm disappointed, at the least, as the CtoCIV event (my first) was an incredibly fun trip.

My wife and I have already blocked off vacation time for next years CtoC, and plan to make a weekend out of it at the Mt. Washington Resort. Already looking forward to seeing you all again!

Sorry I can't make it...

Best,
Fryed

Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it.
See you at C2C5 in June.

I should have an updated list posted Sunday Night. I can no longer edit the first post so the list will be in a new post.

I was at a party at the Wall of America site in Winsted Friday night. I had never been to the actual site but had seem parts of the mural that Ellen was working on at the studio at her home.

I did not know what to expect and the mural has a way to go before it is completed but what is there so far is simply stunning.

To have Ellen give us a private tour on October 28th will be an opportunity that you will not want to miss. I will post some pictures tomorrow but the Bimmerfesters Fall Folliage Run is shaping up to be a fantastic event.

On another note Ms. Audio and I are seriously considering making an offer on a home that is about 1/4 mile from Lime Rock Park.

Gotta be a second home, a get-away kinda place?

Having finished "Playing with Trains" and "The Mudge Pond Express" by Sam Posey I've decided to rearrange my schedule and will definitely be in for the mural tour. I think that most 'Festers have no idea what an opportunity this is. You've made your bones with this one Cap'n!

Check out the project http://www.wallofamerica.org/videolibrary.html

I bet this is going to be a blast, but it falls RIGHT on midterms for me (yayyy masters degree - what was I thinking?). Between that, a 1 year anniversary, construction on our house, and a few other projects all happening end of sept thru mid oct, I'm just going to need a weekend off!

Take tons of pictures!

This will truly be a unique opportunity and something you will be telling your grandchildren about.

Below are some pictures that show the scale of the project, the architectual model of the mill as it will be completed and a mockup of the mural which will be 48 feet high and 120 feet wide.

We are working out the exact times but we will probably get to the mill in Winsted around lunch time on Sunday the 28th after a drive trrough some scenic Litchfield County roads.

There wil be no set fee for the event but contributions to the American Mural Project would be appropriate and appreciated.

There are 3 suggested giving levels to enable everyone to enroll and be counted as an AMP Member.
  • $120 (the Mural is 120 feet wide)
  • $48 (the Mural is 48 feet high)
  • $6 (the Mural is 6 feet deep)
Sandwiches and sodas will be served at the mill, Ellen will conduct a tour, explain the project and answer questions and then we will all head home.

Sir Stirling Moss was the guest of honor at Lime Rock Historic Festival 30 on Labor Day Weekend.

I found this video narrated by former race driver (and Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving and Chower Society member) Walter Cronkite.

It should be particuraly interesting to anyone who has driven at Lime Rock.

Here is another old film of a race at LRP

Well there goes the neighborhood

Just kidding, looking forward to having you as neighbors.

I'm going to be making some photography drives up there over the next two weeks - I'll scout some good roads.

Talk soon.

I will be there on Saturday for the photography workshop run by LRP. It is a busy day, but I should be finished around 7.00pm if you want to blow the froth of a beer on Saturday night before I head back.

I was working the corners at the Vintage Festival. I managed to shake hands with Stirling Moss just before his parade laps on Monday...they set the cars up in front of where the corner workers had lunch below the tower.

You should join us at the Falls Village Inn for Saturday dinner,

I was at the Historics from Thursday to Monday. I was able to get Stirling Moss and John Fitch to sign several event posters.
