That's awesome. Seeing that makes me want to break out my Lionel train set from when I was a kid.

I did not get a chance to color correct them and the flourescent lighting gave them a greenish tint.

I have two books by Sam Posey which I bid on and won at the C2C auction (both donated by CA). They are "Playing With Trains" which is the story behind the story of the layout in CA's pics, and "The Mudge Pond Express" which is his autobiography in relation to his formative years and racing career. Both books are an excellent read and I'd be happy to lend them to anyone interested at the Fall Fauxliage (will there still be leaves?) Run.

I'm also wondering about the ambient temps during that time of year and whether or not to switch over to my winter set of tires? I'm hoping for a beautiful Indian Summer weekend.

Best idea I heard in a longtime. Beautiful foliage and a BMW is a great image.

Average weather at that time of year should be highs in the mid 50s and low in the mid 30s. But it is New England so the weather can be very unpredictable.

We should be about a week past peak foliage and there will very likely be leaves on many of the trees,

It happens. Last year though we had a killer snowstorm about that time.
Your Summer tires will be fine as far as the temperature goes. I'll still have mine on. Oh wait a second, that's all I have is Summer tires. Three different sets of them. I've still got the original run flats with only 4800 on them, too, but I'd hate to remount those.

Anyway, why not wait until you have a few days to go, check the forecast and act accordingly. If there's any chance of snow, and that is highly unlikely despite recent history, you'd not want the Summers on.

Here are some videos of a late October run I went on with Planet-9 (Cayman Club) in late October of 2008.

This run was in an area (The Catkills) that gets peak foliage at the same time as Litchfield County, Ct,

Hopefully we will get the same kind of weather.

I'll be at Lime Rock on the afternoon of 10/27 with the final SCDA track day of 2012. I should be there from ~11.30 onwards getting set up for a 1pm start if anyone wants to say Hi!

Yeah, I was specifically looking for a car WITH this installed instead of the usual front plate brackets. I like the option of removing the plate for that clean look.

If only MA wasn't a front-plate-required state.

This thing is getting cleaned up and stuffed into the garage; I may be able to get a few good drives out of it this autumn, but as soon as snow hits its bye-bye.

Is it May 2013 yet?

SCDA is sharing the track with Lime Rock Drivers Club that day. Drivers Club will have it in the morning and will be in the Lime Rock Chalet (the one that is closest to the location of the Harpoon Tent). The Fall Foliage Tour should be at LRP around lunch time to visit the Drivers Club. You should stay over Saturday night and join us for dinner at the Falls Vilage Inn and for our visit to The Wall of America on Sunday.
