Engine Oil At Minimum Warning?

Got this warning today. Is it normal for these engines to burn oil? Also, what is the deal with once a year oil changes? Are the 10,000K oil changes not necessary anymore?

Here's my car:

My 2010 750i took a qt. of oil like every 2500/3000 miles. The dealer said this was normal, and from other posts from 2010...a lot of other owners experienced the same thing. I'm assuming the same deal for 2009, 2011 and 2012 F01 models.

Could be because if the turbos, my oil light hasn't come on in my 750i but my a5 takes a lot of oil.

Btw, I'm from Vancouver as well. Nice to see a local 7 series member.

Here's my car:

My dealership has oil stacked in the driveway. Just pull up, and they replenish all fluids.

I have a 2009 750li and I want to change the oil in it. The 2002 745i I once owned took 8qts. will it be the same for the 2009 750li?
