God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

I got this a few weeks ago

my dad got me this 1985 318i from this guy down the street from my house for $400 i drove it a few times then it started getting hot and and cutting off and would only come back on on the 2nd and 3rd try i love the car but i dont know anything about it and i dont know what to do with it i need help

If you got it hot enough to cut off, the engine (head, at least) is toast. Head gasket, minimum, probably cracked the head, too. You can't abuse an engine with a cast iron block but aluminum head like that. Poor car.

if you want to repair that engine, replace the vital parts of the cooling system and then buy a product called thermiweld

Thanks u guys my dad said it might be the radiator and water pump so we're gonna replace that first then if it still acts up I guess your right about the engine
