F02 LCI Lights Retrofit

the basic ones are not adaptive. they're just xenon. the first upgrade is adaptive xenon. the second upgrade is adaptive led.

You need to code it and definetly experienced technicians. If you know WHAT to do then it takes around 12 hours to install it incl. re-wiring

The non LED LCI lights still get the blue corona rings.

I opted out of the LED lights on a 7 I have on order now. I'm not a fan of the yellowish halos on the xenons, but once I saw the look of white LED bulbs in the xenons I was much happier with that than parting with £2000 for the LEDs for the sake of a little extra eye candy (I say I, of course I mean "she")

I didn't realise the facelift model came with white/blue halos from the get go. Good to know!

It's not just eye candy. There's some major technology under it.

Point taken, it actually is some very cool tech, not seen that video before. Alas, something I can ultimately live without (and will certainly have to now, too late to change my mind)

Something I can't live with (and you can call it vanity, because that's exactly what it is...) is spending £70k on a new car with the IMO dated stock orangey lamps!

(And come on now, 132 posts in this thread and I don't see one saying how much better the LED lamps are because they will be so much safer in the dark )

To each his own i guess. they didnt offer leds back when i was ordering but i wanted them since they were introduced. so im retrofitting them this week.

Oh don't get me wrong - I want them, but it's too easy to get carried away with these things. Have to draw a line somewhere so I chose all of my "must haves" plus a few "nice to haves", and the LED lights just missed the cut.

I already used up my "30th Birthday Present" card on the 252 Wheels, Azurite black and extended Nappa Leather...

You can always get them later. I cheaped out on 20' wheels and custom color.
Though extended leather is real nice.

I just want to know... What is the absolute best option for changing out the yellow ass eyes to the brightest hid/LED type eyes with no errors, no burning out the factory wiring or any other issues. Getting as close to the look of the new 5er eyes...???
I mean I've been yo close and personal with a F01 and the eyes are in a word. Painful.

yeah the standard xenon lights come with the blue LED corona rings for 2013.

I installed the LED's and all I can say is that they look awesome.

Huge difference between the normal headlamps on 7 and the LEDs. The LEDs on the 6 are equally as stunning.

I actually prefer the amber/yellow of the 09, 10 models.
But I can't wait fir several photos of the head lamps. Post up just parking lamps, daytime running and head lights on please.

First three pictures are parking lights.

Fourth and fifth are low beams. If beam switch is set to auto, left headlight moves down and out(City lighting mode)

First pic is high beams (full not auto)

2nd and 3rd are low beams.

Last two are DRLs.

First one is DRL and the second one is high beam.

Sorry. It's just too bright to photograph head on.

Congrats on one of the best mods I've ever seen performed on any 7 Series. And THAT is saying alot.

I am interested to know the details on 'coding' or any body modifications? Did the units simply bolt right in and fit or was modification needed?
Any modification inside to control the lights? It would seem to me that one would need to be a "specialist" in car electronics and installation to even attempt this...

Thank you. But im not the genious behind it. its actually bimmertech. headlights were exact fit. had to change a couple of plugs on the wiring though.

you're right. it's like nothing on the road. i was actually stopped yesterday because cops thought my low beams weren't turned on. i had to explain to them that the middle only lights up with high beams and the corona is actually both low beam/drl.

I was just about to ask this. Wow.... So the Rings are also the source of lowbeam light? FANTASTIC!

I can only imagine how incredible they look at dusk....
