looking to buy
Hello all, I'm a newbie. I've been looking to buy a 335d and I keep looking at ebay ads. It seems like none ver reach the reserve price. Anyone ever bought a car long distance on ebay?
I am particularly interested in this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-3...#ht_500wt_1182 Any thoughts on if its a good deal? He has it listed right at Kelley Blue Book. Which I think is hard to get in a sight unseen internet sale. |

Interesting how the pictures are timestamped 2004 when the car being sold is a 2010. Perhaps the time wasn't set on the camera? The seller should not be shy about showing the MSRP.
I bought my car long distance but went in person before the deal was done. I found it on autotrader.com, flew to Pennsylvania, did the deal, and drove 1400 miles home. $35,500 might be an okay deal but I'm guessing the sticker on this car was around $51k. Typically, a bare bones 335D is $48k. I see it has the sports package but no shifter paddles (only a $100 difference) no cold weather or convenience packages, so I'm guessing its $48k + the ZPM which is about $2000. For what it's worth, I got $11.5k off a service loner with 6200 miles and it was 7 months old. This car has 17,900 miles and is 2 years old. I would say around $32k to $33k would be the price point. Go do a nationwide search on autotrader for 2010 models and see if the $35.5k price is competitive. Last edited by BB_cuda; 07-11-2012 at 02:09 PM. Reason: added more info |

I hope so, or this is a super special Marty McFly BMW. Maybe it comes with a hot tub time machine.

This car has been for sale for about 3 months. I contacted the guy and he was not flexible on his price.

I just bought my 335d and found a similiar car (options and miles) for about 34k at a local dealer, this would include taxes and fees, probably 37k out the door. I ended up buying a fully loaded 2011 335d instead for around 39k out the door at a dealer so him selling for $35.5k is not a bad deal. Also the real point of KBB is to know what your paying for is priced right.
My opinion is if you like it just buy it, dont lose sleep over $500-1000, those great deals are not always easy to find and you may sacrafice and buy a lesser car later.

Just looked for new inventory as ericwarren suggested using cars.com, the lowest priced 335d comes in at $41k base model, with premium it's $44k and anything with sport package was $49k.
Looks like there are still 335d's out there for sale, I'm sure any of the ones listed on Cars.com would take $1-2k less if offered. Good luck.

A better local deal
I just found this one in palm beach:
http://www.bramanmotorcars.com/certi...aab85ad7fe.htm Think it's a better deal. Certified 2011 with only 7k miles. An odd observation. While doing carfax checks I have noticed a lot of cars look like they are being repossessed. I don't know if just reading the cardax wrong, or if lease termination always looks like that, or a bad economy. |

I assume you bought the one from Ebay?
Black Sapphire Metallic with Chestnut Brown (Red) Dakota Leather? My question is did you get the black wheels too? Or stock ones?
