It's a really good deal and the F07 isn't that ugly if you look at it as sleak SUV or minivan rather than a Fanken-sedan. Try thinking of it as Mercedes R-Class competitor rather than a CLS competitor. Looks better now, doesn't it?

Ok...so they are selling for invoice or a little below invoice. Still a good deal. Braman has a ton of 2012's in stock so I may go check one out. 15k off a nice Panny S would net me a high 80's purchase price which is close to my desired x5 5.0 price.

For whatever reason I do not like button "blanks" in my cars. I think they look silly. Coming from many years of owning VW/Audi vehicles, the US market cars would always have blank buttons everywhere (even with every option) because we always gets shafted.

6 button blanks! It just looks stupid. Even my RS4 had several blanks though the car had every factory option (that had a control button).

That's one thing I appreciate about BMW interiors..you rarely see obvious switch blanks like that. They used to be really good about this but have slipped a bit recently. Still you have to look fairly hard to find them. In my e92 for example, the only one is for where the rear fog light switch would go. And thats an easy fix if I choose to do so.

For you f10 owners, what does the row of switches below the light switch look like if you don't get those ootions (acc, etc)? I bet BMW makes different trim pieces for every button config! They even did that in the e46 for the row of buttons on the lower console for seat hearing, etc.

That's the type of stuff that makes appreciate these cars. At first glance an Audi or even vw interior looks more impressive but spend some time with each and the BMW quality shines through. BMW, for example, would never put big piece of silver plastic on its dashboard a la Audi a4.

I have made peace with the looks of the F07 a long time ago. I am ok with it.... It is just what other people think. But frankly, I really don't care what other people think.... learned that lesson a long time ago!

So what is the average cost of a Dinan tune anyway? You have piqued my interest!!

Funny, every time I see a BMW without ACC I notice the missing switches.

In my 5er, the row of switches below the light switch looks like this:

Tischer, now Porsche of Silver Spring, had no inventory...I got mine at Tyson's Corner. Many things about the 7 I miss, but the Pana is very nice. After owning it for a week, I would say that it feels more connected to the road than the 7. The interior is fantastic looking.

I've been warming up to NoVA tremendously these last couple years. My brother lives in the area and it's always a joy for car enthusiasts, like us. BMW, Audi, MB, Aston dealers are all right there and Ferrari/Maserati/Lamborghini/Rolls Royce/Bentley are a quick drive away.

Looks like you're missing the accident avoidance system. I am guessing you don't have active cruise control. But with that MSRP, I can't imagine you not having it.

Yeah, I looked up stage 2 Dinan... looks interesting and tempting.... but $3,500? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. The verdict is still out.

The back of the Panamera is quite impressive. It has more legroom than the back of a 5 despite offering a shorter wheelbase.

There was some article on the Panamera's development where it said that the CEO of Porsche made it clear he had to fit in the front and back. I think the man is like 6 ft 8 or something ridiculous like that.

I was blown away the first time I sat in the back of one. I tried sitting in the back of a Rapide and could barely fit. Porsche did well with the car, even though the rear design is awful

Interesting. Last time I visited the VW/Audi HQ in Herndon. The rear parking lot had tons of EU-spec models (the RS5, Golf R, etc were there almost a year before they came here). Also saw my first Veyron

There are always goodies there. Before I switched jobs I used to be there frequently. I even got to drive some of the toys.

I may go RS5 instead of M5. Microsoft has a benefit with generous discounts on Audi that can be combined with ED.

Lucky you! We used to get 10% off all VW Brands and Ford Brands, but alas no more discounts. At least not in US.

It kills me that they have not figgured out the 535 yet. I love my GT and have the money banked for when they do. If you're in a 550 GT you should go for it.

I see things have changed since I moved away 12 years ago. A quick internet search shows that YBH Porsche in Tysons is now Porsche of Tysons Corner. I, like you, am drawn to the Panny. Went to look at one last night and really liked it. The biggest drawback for me is the small trunk, but the front seat legroom is amazing. The trunk is a real problem for me because I often carry banker boxes full of files. I could put them on the back seat, but do not want to put boxes on that nice leather (the trunk in my former M3 convertible was bigger and I used to complain about how useless that trunk was). As far as the legroom, did I mention how much I loved the legroom! I am a big guy and you can sell me a car on legroom alone. The wife felt less enthused by the car after a test drive so we ll see what happens there. I think she started to back away from the idea as soon as I opened the trunk. That was a big letdown for her too. The one I want was stickered at 103k and was a Panny S RWD with nice equipment and great wheels. I can't believe the Panny (as I want it) is more money than the M5 and E63 AMG (although the current discounts would make the Panny less out the door). These are the top 3 cars on my list to follow the 535i.

NoVa is nice...Tysons is even nicer. I almost purchased a townhome in Tysons back in 2000, but decided to move to South Florida instead. Every time I go back it is this push pull dynamic that I have with myself. I really miss the vibrant, diverse and cultured atmosphere of the D.C. metro area. However, I DON'T miss the hectic commuting and bumper to bumper traffic all day long. Tysons is one of the nicest parts of NoVa and I can see why you would like it...I loved it for years. It is even better now.

I know I noticed this myself when I drove to the dealer in my 5 and then took a Panny out. The Panny is much bigger (wider) than the 5, but inside it does not feel much bigger. The 7 feels much larger than the Panny to me.

Agree 100%. Your Panny is very nice. Much more of a drivers car than the 7.
