Almost there...

Did you try the regular iPhone cable before buying the integration cable? I thought you didn't need the integration cable on the newer models. I have pretty much the same car as you and I just use the standard white iPhone cable directly into the USB port. I can see all my music and playlists.

I think it depends on the build date. The standard Apple cable never worked on my 2011. The dealer gave me an integration cable when I bought my car and it works great using my iPhone and iPod.

The standard Apple USB cable didn't work - haven't tried the new cable yet. I typically have a Mophie battery pack on the phone, and it covers the standard iPhone connector.

A few more new-owner discoveries

1. Didn't know the car had auto-dipping mirrors! They don't dip a great deal, but enough to be helpful.

2. Hadn't known about the lights that come on around the door handles when the car is unlocked via the fob - very classy looking.

3. The car has about 31,000 miles on it, so the engine should be pretty well broken in. On the interstates, it does appear to do a solid 34-38 mpg. Around town doing stop-and-go, however, mileage doesn't seem quite what I had anticipated. Don't have a firm number yet, but it was enough to pull down my 37-40 mpg to an average of 23 pretty quickly.

4. THIS CAR IS A BLAST TO DRIVE!

At a constant 75 mph, I routinely get 36-40 mpg on flat interstate. When I first got the car, I made a trip to LA from Phoenix, and at an average speed of 83 mph got 34.1 mpg!

In mixed driving, I usually get between 28 and 31 mpg.

Glad you finally found one. I wonder who ended up with my white M sport.
