Why did my horn change?
Out of the blue my horn sounds completely different! It is not as loud as it should be! I have to press hard to get enough sound from it. What is going on? It like there were two horns before and now there is only one!

You're exactly right - your car came from the factory with two horns mounted inside the aluminum front bumper reinforcement. One horn provides the low tone, and the other provides the high tone. From your description, one of the horns has failed.

Hella makes some excellent replacement horns that speak *with authority*. Not too expensive, either....

Maybe something crawled in there and died?

Thanx guys. I got the mechanic to confirm that one horn is dead. Had to replace it.

Hmm, I suspect this happened to my car too - my horn sounds a lot deeper than I remember. Maybe something to do with this heat?
I might just go for those hella horns... My friend has them on his STi, and they are *loud*
