lights

My inner lights on my 2008 650 do not come on. I have high beam and low beam. My dealer told me they do not come on, the bulb just illuminates the rim lights, but I have seen photos of my car with the inner headlights on. Any idea? Thx

You will have better response in the main 6 forum. This is the sub forum for the newer model and most of these members haven't had the pleasure of owning an e6x model

I'm trying to rack my brain if I ever noticed the lights on or not in my (then) '08.

The dealer must not be so informed on BMW's. If you have the bi-xenons, the outter light serves as the low beam, and the high beam. The inner light is for daytime running lights, and usually the flash to pass.

On that year model I'm pretty sure the inside lights are for active illumination, as they are for my F01 and were for my E65. If equipped, one side should turn on when making a turn to light up the curve on that side. If not equipped, they just won't light up and will only have their ring illuminated.

They're daytime running lamps. If you want them, the dealership can turn them on.
