Steering wheel problems

Ever since I got the wider after market rims for my x5 I have gotten problem with my steering, do I have to change the steering fluid or is there a bad barring ing the steering wheel because it makes a sqweeping sound and turns very stiff. Thank you.

Try a set of original rims and see if the problem goes away. If it does not then start checking out the steering system.

did you get the correct size rims for the fronts?? the fronts are smaller (9 1/2's) than the backs (10 1/2's) in width -this could be the problem
