Upgrade my factory stereo

This is my first post to any forum; so, I may break forum protocols. I apologize in advance. I would like to upgrade my original stereo to one that is compatible with my iPhone but I’d also like to ensure it works seamlessly with car’s factory stereo controls. I’d like to listen to Pandora or other internet stations without having to get satellite radio. Any ideas or recommendations?

You can get an aux in for a few hundred or spend a few grand to get something to work with idrive seamlessly. I could be completely wrong of the cost for aftermarket solutions for seamlessness. Oh I almost forgot you could upgrade your idrive to the ones in the new BMWs, but that's also about 3-4k. Good luck tho.

Running Pandora or similar from your iPhone will not sound that crisp due to the phone's bandwith.
If you want to integrate your phone with iDrive and play iTunes, then there are a number of different ways to integrate.

I watched the video but I was wondering if this will work with my iDrive system. I had a 01 325i with a Dice system and it was great but I didn't think something like that would work on my 545i. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Video was great, thanks.
