Stereo Upgrades
In this set up we would use a digital processor to pull signal from your
factory amplifier, banding the signals together to create a full range system. From the Audison digital processor we would transfer that signal to an Arc Audio amplifier, providing 125 watts at 2ohm to 4 channels. 2 of those channels would be sent to the crossovers for your front speakers in the doors (Morel Dotech Ovation components) which have incredible sound quality and superb detail. Under the seats we would replace the factory 6" woofers using the factory enclosures with Earthquake's 8" replacement drivers. Those would be powered in stereo form the remaining two channels from the amplifier giving you a lower frequency response to give you a full, rich sound. We'd finish the project with extensive tuning to the Bit10 Audison processor to give you the best sound available through the equipment we've recommended. The whole project would take about a day and a half with 12 full man hours to complete. This would definitely be a system worth doing,

How does your system compare to the upcoming B&O system for the 5-series? |

I have listed to this stereo extensively and for me, the +3 at 2khz is too shrill. I have this at -2. I have also de-emphasized the 100 and 200 mhz levels by -1 or -2. I find it too boomy some times. But it is very much dependent upon the music you are listening to and its source.

Seems to me to be quite good and extremely pleased. I've not had the chance to compare.

Any takers ?
I will gladly sell all of the new OEM F10 speakers and amp for a very reasonable price. Say $100 with additional $30 for shipping...?

Is this the F10 analog amp? If so I'm interested...

How much did your installation cost? How difficult was it to splice into the BMW fibre optic system?

Is the B&O system a digital or analog amp processor?

How did you remove the OEM amplifier and still have a working system? I thought the audio on the F10 was delivered to the amplifier over the fibre-optic MOST bus?

Hired out with professionals
To answer all three questions...I hired out with a team know as Audio Obsessions in the Albany/ Capital District region. They inturn were intouch with BMW and infact one of the techs is a former employee of Bavarian Soundwerks. One of the owners is a RPI graduate also. Labor cost was close to 2/5 of the total which including NYS sales tax(8%) nearly $2900. They've have given me so much clarity and deep volume with a CD or SAT. radio, that when I " pump it up" at times, the listening while driving can be a distraction. Not really such a bad thing, is it?
