Control Arms - Pressing in Bushing
I had my control arm bushings pressed out and replaced a few months ago by my mechanic. Does the bushing arrow and the arrow on the control arm have to be aligned for the control arm to hold properly? My brother brought it to my attention that they did, I checked mine and they are not aligned. I am getting a vibration at 70 mph on and off that hasn't gone away. The ball joint the control arm is connected to also moves when i put pressure back and forth. Does the ball joint lower need replaced and control arm bushings repressed in correctly?
Thanks for any help.

The arrows should be aligned (checked the Bentley manual), and there should be no movement in the ball joint.
Bentley Manual states 'Bushings may only be replaced once', so it looks like you will have to change the whole arm this time. |
